Please, tell me, how adults are the only ones worthy of comfort.⠀

How some of our most vulnerable and literally helpless are seen as robots. "Once they are fed and dry, leave them to cry" actually makes me sick.⠀

This is the narrative that society tells parents. ⠀
⠀
The narrative that is drilled from almost every side.⠀
⠀
Your baby only has needs.⠀
⠀
Comfort is not extra or unnecessary. It is essential to growing and thriving.⠀
⠀
So you responding to your children is not "wrong." On any level.⠀
⠀
What is wrong, is societies ideals that we should ignore our children's pleas and calls for connection, closeness, and comfort. Because these are all absolutely valid.
