It's time. Time to rally around Desirre and her family. The bell for round three has been rung, and we're ready to come out swinging.

My sister from another mister isn't finished yet, and she has so much left to do here. She poured into me for years - more than a decade - and there is pretty much nothing I wouldn't do for her.

The wrong people get cancer. Not that there is a right person, but still. IYKYK.

If you would prayerfully consider standing alongside her and throwing a few punches, I would be so grateful!

After a year of battling pancreatic cancer, Desirre then fought off colon cancer for another yea… Tiff Miller needs your support for Help Desirre Fight Cancer

Some of our beloved PMC doulas have moved away or gone onto other pursuits.
If you have a heart for helping families who struggle to afford holistic care, please consider partnering with us!
We have had a few doulas in town who have generously offered their services at a reduced rate to our clients. Peak Midwife Collective exists to make midwifery care accessible in Colorado. We take on a limited number of clients each year and would love to enable more of our clients to have the amazing support of a doula.
If you are interested, send us a DM and we will chat more about how this works!

Rʜᴏᴍʙᴜs Mɪᴄʜᴀᴇʟɪs🤯🤭

“The rhombus of Michaelis (sometimes called the quadrilateral of Michaelis) is a kite-shaped area that includes the three lower lumber vertebrae, the sacrum and that long ligament which reaches down from the base of the scull to the sacrum. This wedge-shaped area of bone moves backwards during the second stage of labour and as it moves back it pushes the wings of the ilea out, increasing the diameters of the pelvis. We know it’s happening when the woman’s hands reach upwards (to find something to hold onto, her head goes back and her back arches. It’s what Sheila Kitzinger (1993) was talking about when she recorded Jamaican midwives saying the baby will not be born ‘till the woman opens her back’. I’m sure that is what they mean by the ‘opening of the back’."

What a sweet thank you from one of our clients! We love that we get to spend so much time getting to know our clients and their families during the perinatal period.
After a stressful morning, this really brightens our day! I’m so grateful for our wonderful mamas!

Once in a blue moon, a client will spontaneously assume some sort of reclined position, but it's rare. How did you push out your baby?

Repost from **narehabdoctor

It’s interesting that you’re told to never lay on your back the entire pregnancy because it’s unsafe…then as soon as it’s time for labor-you’re told to get on your back.🤔🤓😴.
LET’S START INCLUDING PELVIC PHYSICAL THERAPIST IN THE BIRTH PLAN PEOPLE 🗣
These are the top 3 pelvic floor friendly birthing positions. It doesn’t mean you will like these positions the best, it means these positions make the most sense regarding gravity assistance, pelvic outlet opening, pelvic floor relaxation, and uterine blood flow.
Of course, always deliver in the position that you feel comfortable and confident in.
So….has a human ever come through your va**na? If so-what position works best for you? Let’s talk. 🤎
Artist: and I’m totally addicted to all her work. I literally want to re-post them all. 😍

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 we love this content and we love this amazing advocate Dr. Janelle Howell! Integrative, holistic, multi-disciplinary, functional, bio-dynamic, and all the other cool descriptors is where it’s at!! To rediscover optimal pregnancy, birth, lactation, and parenting in this incredibly out-of-touch society, we need ALL the people!!!

This fall at our first annual conference, our mentors include an OB, IBCLC, RN, CNM, CPM, LAc, CST, DC, LMT, JD, WHNP, LCP & PhD! We exhaust ourselves and disservice our clients by the silos that keep us locked in echo chambers! It’s time to break free and build bridges! Join us this fall! Link in bio.

See A Need, Fill A Need

There is a challenging gap in care for the uninsured and underinsured families in our community who desire home birth midwifery care. While many more women are now eligible for state-based insurance plans, and these plans provide maternity coverage, these plans do not cover the services provided by Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) in Colorado.

This leaves those who wish to have a home birth between a rock and a hard place, forced to choose between paying bills and having the birth they want.

This is where we come in. In order to help bridge the gap and to increase true access to the midwifery model of care in the home setting, we have formed the Peak Midwife Collective (PMC) utilizing the group model of midwifery care. This reduces the out-of-pocket cash price for every family who chooses PMC while still providing quality, comprehensive care from onset of pregnancy through the postpartum period.
