Blogging to share my experiences and life with others to help me and you. Up until February 23rd I was working on joining the air force, but it seems like the universe had different plans for me. I went to the hospital thinking that maybe the hair loss, dizziness, and nausea was all related to a thyroid disorder. After waiting several hours for the results, the doctor walks in and says with a smile on his face, "Bet you didn't know you were diabetic?" Like most of us, we are unaware of what diabetes is and that there are different types. If I were type 2 I had a chance to get it under control and possibly still join the military. But unfortunately it's type 1 and with that comes all the difficulties. As most of us do after being diagnosed, we struggle with depression and finding our place in this world. Without the military I was a little lost on what to do with my life, so in an effort to figure things out I researched. I found the cost of a service dog to be outrageous. I knew I wanted to work with animals since I was a little girl, but I never knew it would end up like this. Taking my love for animals and the ridiculous cost into consideration I've decided to take these as a sign. In an effort to make things easier on families in the future I want to train service animals and only charge the cost of the dog. I believe a family in need shouldn't have to struggle to get something their child needs. My goal starts with obtaining my own service dog. Any money received goes towards me achieving my goal and helping other families and young adults like me get something they need. Thank you for taking the time to read this, hope you all have a great day 😁
