Makar Sankranti marks the Sun’s transition into Capricorn (Makara), symbolizing longer days, new beginnings, and gratitude for the harvest.

It’s a time for flying kites, sharing seasonal foods made with sesame and jaggery, and welcoming warmth, prosperity, and positivity.
