Graduation is supposed to feel like a clear finish line. But for a lot of people, it feels more like standing in the middle of a question you can’t fully answer yet. “Take care of yourself” can start to feel like background noise when you’re a caregiver. Not because it’s bad advice. But because it doesn’t match your reality. If your day is already full of other people’s needs, adding one more thing-even something good-can feel impossible. And when you can’t do it, it’s easy to feel like you’re failing at something you were “supposed” to do. You’re not failing. The advice just isn’t built for the situation you’re in. Sometimes what actually helps isn’t more pressure to do self-care. It’s having a space where you don’t have to hold everything for everyone else for a minute. That’s where support can come in.

We would like to welcome Shelby to the team! Shelby is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. They have a deep-rooted passion for working with Families, Couples, and Individual Teens/Adults, with focus in LGBTQ+ and gender expansive/transgender populations. Meeting clients where they are is an important first step for Shelby, as they invite you on a journey to find yourself.
