“In the context of The MEDSS Code, a thought and a neurotransmitter are fundamentally different yet interconnected elements of human cognition and biology. A thought is an abstract, non-material process, arising from the brains ability to synthesize perceptions, memories and emotions into conscious awareness. It represents the content of the mind. Neurotransmitters on the other hand, are physical chemical messengers that facilitate communication between neurons, influencing the brains electrical and biochemical activity. The MEDSS Code highlights this relationship to show that practices like meditation, exercise, diet, study, and sleep can influence neurotransmitter production and balance, thereby shaping the quality of our thoughts, emotional states, and overall mental clarity.
While focusing the mind can influence processes like heart rate especially in practices like meditation and breathwork, it isn’t solely a “function of the mind”, in the way we think of conscious thought. With practice, the ability to regulate heart rate and breathing and other autonomic processes becomes less about conscious focus and more about conditioning the nervous system. This shifts the work from the abstract level of thought to the deeper, subconscious layers of autonomic communication. The conditioning (Daily Practices), strengthen the pathways to allow the calm states to become the automatic responses over time.” (The MEDSS Code) (For more content like this go to The MEDSS Code Online Training, teaching ancient wisdom with today’s science)

🗣️Don’t buy these products!!!!

👵 Greenwashing is when certain brands falsely claim to be a "natural" alternative for your home. This particular brand is one of the biggest offenders. They’ve tricked me before with the clever marketing, earthy scents and innocent looking bottle that screams eco-friendly.

➡️ Mrs. Meyer’s brand is actually owned by SC Johnson! 🤯 Yep! They were acquired back in 2009 by SC Johnson, the manufacturer of the following toxic products:⚠️Raid, ⚠️Glade Plug-Ins, ⚠️Scrubbing Bubbles, ⚠️Off! bug repellent, and ⚠️Drano. The company continues to test their products on animals. 😞

➡️ Let's take a minute and look at the packaging of Mrs. Meyer’s. It looks so homemade, innocent, a reminiscent of our beloved toxin-free Dr.Bronner’s (this is no coincidence!) Don't be fooled.

Dangerous chemicals in Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Products:
❌ Benzisothiazolinone
❌ PEG-2 Cocomonium Chloride
❌ Methylisothiazoline (linked to nerve damage by the NIH)
❌ Phenoxyethanol
❌ Sodium Caprylyl Sulfonate and
❌ Sodium methyl-2 lauryl sulfate (can create cancer-causing nitrosamines and cause acute aquatic toxicity)
❌ Fragrance - undisclosed concoctions of chemicals and most likely glycol ethers, as with many SC Johnson products)

Credit to original author.

Here’s their website with ingredient list:

What are your favorite better options? We use Dr. Bronner’s, Ecos, Seventh Generation. Vinegar and baking soda.

UPDATE: see Heather Christianson’s comment about the toxins in the ones I listed! She recommends Charlie’s Soap.

Gratitude for My Dog

Dear Spirit of all life,
I am grateful for this time with my dog, for the simple moments we share, and for the warmth they bring into my life. Help me to see the world through their gentle eyes, full of wonder and trust.
May I be reminded to pause, to play, and to find joy in the ordinary. Let my heart stay open, filled with the same love and loyalty my dog offers freely.
For each wag, each soft sigh, each nudge for a little more time together, I give thanks.
May I honor this bond, day by day, as a gift beyond measure.

Buyer Beware

I wonder how many have changed the formulas? I noticed that Tom’s of Main now has Fluoride.
Sad when we grab a trusted brand and believe in them without checking the labels.

What is a Nurtition Coach or Food Therapist?

Hi there!

I'm so excited to hear you've made the choice to include me in reaching your wellness goals! I look forward to learning more about you and together coming up with a win plan! My program for success is progressive. We start with meeting you where you are at and helping you to grow to where you want to be.

A little about me:

I have 20+ years in the health and fitness industry. I started back in the 80s teaching fitness classes, personal training, and privately cooking for people. I began my nutrition studies at the Kushi Institute, in Boston, learning the Yin and Yang of food.
