I haven't posted in awhile because we've had a lot going on in our lives recently. But today I was contacted by the mother of a boy with autism. She wrote a book from the point of view of her son Gavin. As it's rare to find things from the child's point of view, I feel compelled to share her book here. This! This is why advocacy is so important. Some of these children can't advocate for themselves yet. And some parents don't know how to advocate for their child. That's okay! That's what we're here for! We even offer parent coaching so you know how to advocate for your child. If you need assistance with your child's school, please call us!

Teachers say this all the time, and so many parents don't know where to begin when they know their child is struggling in school. Because so many teachers say, "Let's wait and see," lots of children go without necessary support and can struggle throughout the school year. Or they do okay academically, so the teachers don't acknowledge that they're struggling in other ways.

Here are a few of the ways you can ignite change for your child. We urge you to share your own experiences with the special education system and anything else you would like to add to this list.

🎈🎈🎈Because we've had so many new followers, I wanted to share this again to make sure everyone knows about this event. We are going to have every resource there that you could possibly need, and we will also be doing a training in how the IEP process works. It's a free event and you don't want to miss it! There will even be sensory activities for the kids!
Please like and share so we can get the word out to as many people as possible. 🎈🎈🎈

We understand all of this because we've lived it. We've lived the life of a special needs parent. We've done the sleepless nights, endless therapies, and doctors appointments. We've gone through the special education system with our son and advocated for him. We've fought with insurance for adaptive equipment. So we can definitely help advocate for your child and empower you to do the same.
