Does your organization need an AED? Zoll and HSI are partnering up to helpp have more AED's in the community and have people trained to use them. Zoll is going to give away an AED everyday in 2025. HSI is providing training. Apply if you think your organization needs an AED.

HSI is partnering with CoroMed and ZOLL Medical on Project AED365, where one ZOLL AED and an HSI RSV training will be donated each day during 2025!

We have a new Parent Infant CPR class available. It goes over use of an AED, infant CPR & choking. It does not include certification, it is for educational purposes only.

All staff members who work with children need to be CPR trained. Sudden cardiac arrest does not spare our children. This is another story of an 8 year old being saved by a teacher. Thankfully, teachers are trained in CPR & First aid. By standers CPR is very important, please be trained and ready to act.

Sofia Montoya’s life was saved when school staff and community first responders administered CPR after she collapsed on her elementary school playground near Half Moon Bay.

Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis discovered medical hand washing and equipment sterilization in 1847. The doctors were doing autopsies in the morning and delivering babies in the afternoon, without washing their hands. Mothers were dying at a high rate and they didn't know why. Semmelweis' work was dismissed and wouldn't become accepted for 20 years. Semmelweis would have a breakdown and be institutionalized where he died in 1862. Louis Pasteur would vindicate his ideas in 1864.

Local Hero! A lot of teachers are required to take CPR & FA. Local Science teacher, Laura Smith saved a life by being trained and ready to take action.

A high school science teacher is credited with saving a student's life at a high school. Laura Smith was filling in as an athletic trainer during a soccer game last October, when a player 'went down' and stopped breathing.
