Sometimes I think about the things I wish I had known sooner.
Not to change the past, but to understand it with more kindness.

Life is not always fair.
People are not always gentle.
And still, there is strength in choosing to remain light in a heavy world.

If I could speak to my younger self, I would tell her this:

You can choose to be light in dark places.
You can choose to keep your heart soft in a hardened world.
You can choose to do what is right, even when no one is watching.

Your softness is not a weakness.
It is what keeps you human.
It is what keeps you true.

Some lessons arrive late,
but they arrive right on time.

Happy Tuesday! We've got our Bourbon Barrel Stout back tomorrow for our NYE celebration. We'll have the hockey games on in the Ice Hall and Castle Rooms along with giant jenga and yard games out back. Here's what's happening the rest of the week:

Here's what the end of 2025 and beginning of 2026 look like! We'll be closed on New Year's Day, partly due to the holiday but mostly because that's the day that my dear wife returns to the United States after a visit to Japan.

NOTE: Urban Animal Beer Co Downtown (our permanent home) WILL be open on New Year's Day. Come see us on the back patio at 521 S. Tejon!
