Connecticut has a complicated process for Scheduling (banning) substances and Kratom has been moving directly towards it in 2025 without public input.

However we now have a window to push for a public hearing and to submit comments!

Background & Current Status:

Early in 2025 the Connecticut Legislature passed legislation for the Department of Consumer Protection to add kratom to the Controlled Substances list.

Now the Department of Consumer Protection has to accept comments until October 20th, 2025. Also, we are going to Petition to have a Public Hearing. We need to gather 15 Connecticut resident signatures ASAP.

Massachusetts Hearing Info 🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘

On Wednesday, September 10th, the Joint Committee on Public Health in Massachusetts will hold an important hearing, including two bills that will directly impact the future of kratom in the state:

Support: S. 1609 An Act Concerning the Regulation of Kratom – a commonsense regulation bill that ensures product safety and consumer transparency.

Oppose: S.1558, An Act Banning the Sale of Kratom – a misguided ban that would criminalize consumers and push the market underground.

This is a critical moment. Lawmakers need to hear directly from consumers, small business owners, and advocates like you who know the truth about kratom. Regulation – not prohibition – is the right path forward for public health and consumer safety.

URGENT HELP NEEDED

Kratom is under attack in Connecticut. Lawmakers have snuck language into House Bill 6855 — a bill originally about cannabis regulation — that would criminalize kratom consumers and devastate thousands who rely on kratom for wellness and relief.

We must act now to stop this.
