Are you ever in class and you wonder "Am I doing this right?" If so, this workshop is for you.

In this interactive two hour workshop we will explore the breakdown of Surya Namaskar A (also known as Sun A's, vinyasa, or flow) to focus on proper alignment in the postures, transitional options, and breath pattern technique while flowing through the movements. In addition, each student will be asked to bring 1 or 2 basic postures they would like a breakdown of. What sets this workshop apart is its small group format resulting in each student receiving direct feedback and guidance from the instructor in every pose we cover. Class will be finished off with a mini-flow at the end to practice incorporating what you learned. Moving through postures with proper alignment and breath can be life changing for your yoga practice and prevent injury longterm.

Prenatal Yoga Redefined: Functional Movement & Womb Circle with Sammy Conrad

Join Sammy Conrad, Full spectrum doula, E-RYT 200HR yoga instructor & Holistic Nutrition Consultant who specializes in movement for the female body & supporting women through fertility, pregnancy & postpartum.

This circle will begin with a 60 minute movement session with the intention of feeling comfortable in your pregnant body and making space for your baby. Sammy believes that the birth process works as well as tissues can yield in our unique female anatomy, and yoga has the potential to greatly support, or in some cases, hinder that. The remaining time will be used seated in circle sharing, holding space, and forming community.

Pregnancy is a time of tremendous transition in a woman’s body and life. In this module, we’ll review guidelines for pregnancy related exercise, and not only pose modifications to make room for a growing belly, but functional movement patterns that are actually conducive to physiological positioning and birth. We will talk about sequencing principles for prenatal specific classes, as well as body temperature management, and supportive movement by trimester.
Hours can be used towards a 300 hour certificate through Hot Asana Yoga University or towards continuing education requirements.

A deep and challenging alternative to the myriad of Vinyasa yoga classes, this grounded practice consists of longer holds in seated or supine poses. In this two-hour practice, you'll release all muscle groups surrounding the hip joint, which in turn leads to more mobility, less compression, and healthier pelvic and spinal alignment. Anatomical knowledge and an understanding of skeletal variation are tools to elevate your skill and confidence as a yoga instructor. In addition to this valuable information that may radically transform your asana teaching, you will learn the art of Yin Yoga and become a certified Yin Yoga Instructor. This 25-hour yoga teacher training module has been carefully constructed to expand your knowledge, skill set and confidence as both a teacher and a student. The work that we do as yoga teachers is key in both the mental and physical wellness of our communities. Elevate your credentials to teach beyond the introductory information commonly delivered in a 200-hour teacher training. This is one of many modules set up by Hot Asana Yoga University to stand alone as continuing education or to allow you to build your 300-hour certification at your own pace. Modest Mouse Hot Yoga with Sarah Spence

Set to an all Modest Mouse playlist, this class is recommended for all levels to learn and refine yoga postures in the longer holds provided. Poses are still linked together through creative transitions but this class does not include the down dogs, planks, side planks or chataurangas that are seen in our flow classes. This practice can be a great counterbalance to taking vinyasa flow classes, as well as a great option for those who may prefer to avoid wrist, elbow or shoulder weight bearing but still desire a hot & sweaty workout. Our studio is heated to above body temperature to allow for a deeper release and to avoid injury. The instructor is skilled in delivering this type of experience to a multi-level group of students - no previous experience is required. *Explict lyrics*

In this workshop we will explore the psoas:the spirit muscle. A space in the body that holds our stories we carry throughout life. We will begin softening, moving into opening, then strengthening the psoas. We will integrate some Myofascial release into this practice as well to work through the surrounding areas.
