Fishing is an endurance sport. 2 miles of hiking and wading through current and 5 hours of casting while standing against moving water is a physical challenge. Mentally, staying focused on what the water is telling you and responding appropriately, sometimes quite quickly and powerfully stimulates all kinds of less-used neural patterns. Fishing is an endurance sport! 2 miles of hiking and wading through current for over 5 hours! (We took a break for lunch). I definitely need to work on reducing the effort in my casting—my shoulder is fatigued. Whatever gets you motivated and moving is a good thing!

Health, fitness and nutrition don't have to be difficult. Small efforts, performed consistently will prove more effective than "Weekend Warrior" efforts. Daily walks, weekly strength training, whole plant-based food and lean protein that is easily available go a long way to increasing your healthspan. Let me know if I can help.

WOMEN, Listen to Robert Linkul and Dr. Jennifer Ashton about the importance of lifting heavy weight, (that means it is very difficult and you cannot do more than 10 repetition/set), eating enough protein, using hormone replacement if you are over that age of 50 in order to PREVENT INJURY WHEN YOU FALL and KEEP YOUR BONES STRONG.
Also, how important it is for ALL WOMEN at EVERY AGE, need to be lifting heavy weight if they want to LIVE LONGER, HEALTHIER lives.

Here is one of my Standing Warm up routines. I am performing it on my Power Plate, but you can also do this on the floor. It takes less than 10 minutes and will fire-up your legs, butt, core, shoulders, balance and coordination.

Fit Life Wellness’s Chris Hendren

Chris Hendren, owner of Fit Life Wellness, is a health and fitness enthusiast who has always had an entrepreneurship bone in her body. Chris is extremely driven and has achieved extensive knowledge in fitness, but she quickly found that she really wanted to incorporate joy into her work by implementing play.

Her natural sociability and lighthearted personality are among her greatest gifts. Her joy for life, energy, and quirky sense of humor make her workouts playful and enjoyable. Her attention to detail and organization make her programs systematic and effective. Her heart allows for forgiveness, gratitude, compassion, and generosity.

Her passion for health and fitness grew naturally over the years until she decided to make it a profession in 2011 when she began teaching yoga at CorePower. In 2012, she became certified as a personal trainer and began working as an independent contractor. Since then, she has added certifications in group fitness, nutrition, and senior fitness.

Chris is a Colorado native who has always enjoyed outdoor activities with her family; such as downhill skiing, tennis, backpacking, fishing, rafting, and scuba diving. She currently has two adult boys living and working in Boulder and has been happily married to her wonderful husband for over 30 years.
