Who else’s partner is almost as paranoid about you getting glutened as you are? 😅🙋‍♀️ Or have you also met a celiac who wasn’t fully educated on the risks of eating gluten with celiac — or is in denial about them? 🥲

Unfortunately based on a real interaction we had at a friend’s wedding several years ago. 🙃 The bride’s mom + several guests (including me) had celiac, so I was super excited to not have to bring my own food for once!

But my bf almost had a heart attack when he saw the self-introduced-celiac picking around croutons instead of waiting for our GF salads the caterers were already making. 🫣

Cuz regardless of symptoms, anyone with celiac CAN get intestinal damage from any gluten over 10mg — basically crumbs with whole wheat bread. 🤷‍♀️ And we need doctors to do better at educating newly disclosed celiacs on the importance of cross contact…and to not trust everything they read online. 🙈

What have your experiences been going to a wedding with celiac? Or how do YOU feel about GF Facebook groups? While they can be helpful, I honestly avoid now cuz of all the misinformation and food shaming they often have…

How was YOUR celiac diagnosis journey? Or how educated on celiac have the doctors you’ve visited been? 😅

I’m VERY fortunate that my doctor was able to get me in for my confirming endoscopy soon after my blood test came back positive for celiac. 🙏 So I got my official diagnosis without having to do the gluten challenge.

But I’ve heard from SO many of you that *THIS* was your experience…so if you don’t have an official celiac diagnosis because you can’t go through the gluten challenge, know you are not alone. 🙏

And THIS is also why I ALWAYS recommend being tested for celiac before doing an elimination diet for gluten‼️ And why we need MORE doctors to be aware of non-digestive celiac symptoms, like mouth sores & migraines!

I’d love to hear about any of your doctor experiences with celiac 👇

Who else is a “gluten anxiety” survivor? 😅🤣🙋‍♀️ Or what’s something else only people with celiac / a need to eat gluten free notice or do? 🤔

We recently tried ’s Sandwiches since they opened up a new location in Colorado Springs & this is legit one of the BEST GLUTEN FREE SANDWICHES I’VE EATEN IN 12 years‼️ 😳

I will *definitely* be asking what gf bread they use next time cuz it gave me a heart attack until I compared it to my bf’s order. 🤣 I think it’s from a local GF bakery, and they will also change gloves & prepare / cook your gf sandwich on paper to prevent cross contact!

I ordered the brisket sandwich, and their menu actually shows what CAN’T be ordered GF vs what can…so if you have a Snarf’s near you, def recommend!

What’s a restaurant or product that’s gluten free but tastes so good, it scared you at first?? Lmk 👇

Have you also been given gluten as “gluten free” option at the hospital? 🤦‍♀️🙋‍♀️ Or has your food anxiety / trusting your gut ever saved you from being glutened?? 🫣

Unfortunately this is based off a true story from when I was hospitalized for celiac complications ~6 months after my diagnosis. I wasn’t responding to a gluten free diet, so I was hospitalized & given a feeding tube to help me recover…and my doctor really was *THIS* pi**ed when she found me with a gluten lunch I was about to eat‼️ 😳

THIS is why I ALWAYS recommend bringing extra food with you if you’re going to any hospital procedures & keeping some emergency food in your car / purse / backpack for emergencies. 😓 Thankfully my parents were able to bring me safe food for the rest of my stay, but this experience is why I still trust my gut & double check when a GF food looks a little “too good” nowadays. 😅

I’d love to hear your best — or worst — gluten free hospital experiences 👇

Have you ever had someone ask if you could just “eat the fillings” of a sandwich or pie? Or confuse celiac disease with gluten intolerance? 😅

Honestly, I’m HAPPY for the gluten free people who can tolerate cross contact. 🤷‍♀️ But unfortunately for people with celiac (or ANY medical condition with sensitivity to cross contact), this “hack” would def not be safe — and would make most of us feel AWFUL for at least a few days too. 😅

And if you have gluten intolerance & still can’t handle *this* much cross contact, you def aren’t alone either! 🫶 I usually compare gluten cross contact to raw chicken (or p**p LOL) and that helps. 🤣

How do you explain cross contact? Or what else rated to celiac / gluten free diet do you hope the public understands by the end of 2026? I’d love to hear 👇

Iykyk. 🫣 Who else has gotten sticker shock when eating out gluten free??

In my opinion, it’s understandable for restaurants to charge MORE for gluten free products (like GF buns) that also cost THEM more! However, it def feels like some restaurants use celiac & other medical needs to eat gluten free as an opportunity to raise the price (& their profits) even MORE cuz they know we don’t have a choice. 🥲

Like how does it make sense that some places charge MORE when you REMOVE food, like a GF bun??? 🤨🤨

What’s the most ridiculous or funny gluten free markup you’ve encountered?? I’d love to hear 👇

Is your home 100% gluten free, shared or mostly gluten? 🤔 Or have you ever been told you’re “overreacting” about gluten or cross contact?? 😤 Whether you have celiac (or any other medical need to eat gluten free), you definitely aren’t alone. 🫶

The original video is from awhile back, but many people in 2026 STILL need to realize 👇

1️⃣ Celiac is a serious autoimmune disease that CAN be fatal. And any gluten over 1/8th of a teaspoon of flour or 1/350th a piece of bread (the size of a pen tip!) can cause intestinal damage and symptoms for many with celiac.

2️⃣ Everyone with celiac is different, and we can also have different boundaries, additional dietary restrictions, different medical histories and trauma, etc. And whatever boundaries EACH celiac sets SHOULD be respected‼️

We keep our apartment around 90% gluten free, with the main off-limits ingredients being anything with regular flour. But I’m very fortunate to have a boyfriend who’s very careful about cross contact and crumbs when he does eat gluten at home…and that I’m much healthier than I used to be. 🙏

And I’d love to know what your overall gluten free journey been like 👇👇
