What is the CES Waiver?

The CES Waiver provides services like:

Many parents face the financial burden of staying home to provide care for their disabled child instead of working outside the home. Thankfully, Colorado offers Medicaid programs which allow parents to be hired by an agency and paid to provide in-home care to their children.

The IHSS program and the CHCBS waiver is a lifeline for families who have a child with a disability, as it provides much-needed financial support and helps to ensure that their child receives proper care. Parents can be paid to complete Health Maintenance tasks, which are skilled health tasks typically only a CNA, LPN, or RN is allowed to perform.

The IHSS program and the EBD (Elderly, Blind, and Disabled) waiver in Colorado provides assistance to eligible individuals who require long-term care services and support. The program allows family caregivers to be paid for their services.

Family members who provide care to their loved ones can apply to become paid caregivers through the EBD waiver program. This change recognizes the valuable contribution that family caregivers make to the well-being of their loved ones, and provides financial support to help them continue providing care.

The program helps to alleviate some of the financial burden that can come with caring for an elderly or disabled family member, and encourages families to continue providing care in their own homes.
