Are you taking Gabapentin? Please read:

Due to recent changes in Montana state law, Gabapentin is now classified as a Schedule 5 controlled substance, effective statewide October 1st, 2025.

As a result of this classification, new rules and regulations must be followed by patients, providers, and pharmacies, which include:

🗓️ 𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Refills will be held to their exact “due date” based on the day supply and pickup date of the previous fill, unless documented prescriber approval is provided.

👤 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝗗 𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘂𝗽: Valid photo ID is required for you or anyone picking the prescription up on your behalf.

⏳ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀: Gabapentin prescriptions will expire 6 months after the written date. Any unused refills or quantity will be voided, and a new prescription will need to be issued by the prescriber.

↔️ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Like all other schedule 3 – 5 prescriptions, gabapentin prescriptions may be transferred only once, after 1 initial fill from the original pharmacy.
