In music therapy, we don’t fight for attention, we follow it.

What excites a child becomes the doorway to connection. And from that connection, we can gently shape moments into something more intentional.

In this session, his excitement turns into:

✨ a VERY simple, predictable song
✨ clear opportunities to communicate

We’re not just playing, we’re building the foundation for communication in a way that feels natural, motivating, and successful.

It’s one of the biggest questions parents carry…

And the honest answer is: sometimes, yes!
But not always.

Some children develop spoken language over time. Some communicate in other ways and can still connect, express, and be deeply understood.

Because the goal isn’t just speech… it’s communication.

Music therapy can help create a bridge by reducing pressure, adding structure, and opening new pathways for expression.

No matter where your child is starting, there is always a way to support their voice 🫶🎶

It can feel a little awkward in the moment, but it’s actually SUCH a good thing.

Instead of pulling them back, try this: Pause. Smile. Let them!

In our grown-up & me classes, your child is practicing independence while knowing you’re still their safe place. They’re not “choosing the teacher over you” or "being disruptive." They’re feeling safe enough to explore and connect!

Stay close and follow their lead. That confidence you’re seeing? You helped build that 🎶

It’s not just singing songs and shaking a tambourine (although yes, we do that too 😉).

It’s using rhythm to support regulation.
Melody to support language.
Structure to build predictability.
Choice-making to build autonomy.
Connection to build trust.

And every single note has a purpose.

When music is used intentionally, it becomes a tool, not just entertainment.
