Meet our Executive Director, Steve Baker. Steve had this to say about his career with Miller's!
"I have been back with Miller’s for a little over 2 years; however, in my 41-year career, I have worked for Miller’s for over 32 years.
I’ve always been interested in the health care profession, and it has given me the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals to serve our senior population with kindness, compassion, and respect. The best part of my job is being able to serve our residents. The have given so much and cared for many; it’s now our time to give back and care for them.
Miller’s is a great company to work for. We’ve been a family owned – and now 100% employee owned – company for over 60 years. It’s our family taking care of your family. It’s that true family work environment that makes us different. We not only take care of our residents, but we take care of each other as well.
A few “fun facts” that some people may not know about me is that I really enjoy photography. It’s an opportunity to capture a moment in time that will never happen again. I also love music, and play the drums, bass guitar, keyboards, and some guitar. Both of my parents loved music, and my mom was a music major in college, so I’ve been around music all of my life. All 3 of our children are musical, so that makes us happy! I used to play in a band a number of years ago, which was fun. When the Columbia City High School Arts Department performed the musical “Rock of Ages” back in 2018, we were the band for that. That was a blast!
I don’t think I can pick out just one “best day” I’ve had at Miller’s, as there have been many. Working with a wonderful group of people – some who I’ve know for over 41 years – is such a blessing. I truly consider Miller’s my “work family!”
