A recent study has some great news about how chiropractic care can help! 🤝
As chiropractors, we know that chronic low back pain is more than just a physical issue—it can also affect your mood and daily life. A new study published in the
Journal of Pain reinforces what we see in our practice every day.
Here’s what the research found:
Significant Pain Relief: The study showed that after 12 sessions of spinal manipulative therapy (SMT), people with chronic low back pain experienced a real and noticeable reduction in their pain intensity. This means SMT isn’t just a temporary fix; it offers meaningful relief.
Less Sensitivity to Pain: Participants also showed a reduction in mechanical hyperalgesia, which is a scientific term for an exaggerated sensitivity to touch or pressure in the lower back. Our adjustments help calm down those overactive nerves!
A Shift in Mindset: The study also found that SMT helped reduce pain catastrophizing—that cycle of negative thoughts about your pain. This is a huge win, because how you think about pain can be just as important as the pain itself.
This research confirms that our hands-on approach can address both the physical and mental aspects of your pain, helping you get back to doing what you love. 💪
