Looking for something to do this weekend? Come out to our annual charity golf tournament Sunday, October 16th at LA Nickell. Registration starts at 8:00 AM and tee off is at 9:00 AM. Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge, and alcoholic beverages will be available starting at $2. All proceeds will go towards providing quality healthcare to underinsured patients.

We have a couple exciting updates on the events happening this weekend!

First, we have a raffle running in conjunction with the golf tournament, with some fantastic prizes donated by local (and kind-of-local) businesses:

If you are unable to participate in either the golf tournament or the raffle, we are also collaborating with Freddy's Restaurant in Columbia for a profit-share! On the evening of Oct. 15th, at the Brickton road location mention that you are part of the MedZou fundraiser, and 15% of proceeds from your meal will be donated to MedZou!

Exciting updates for the upcoming golf tournament fundraiser:

Food and drinks will be provided to all participants courtesy of Macadoodles, Annheuser-Busch, Lutz's BBQ, and Lakota Coffee.

The day of the tournament will include bonus games organized by Dixon's golf, and a raffle with generous prizes provided by sponsors from Columbia, KC, and St. Louis.

We are excited to announce that after a two-year hiatus, we will once again be hosting the MedZou golf tournament! The event will be held Sunday, October 17th at L.A. Nickell Golf Course in Columbia. All are welcome to enter--students, faculty, and anyone who wants to support MedZou. The day will include a round of golf, catered lunch, drinks, and great company.

This Friday and Saturday, to celebrate the new Class of 2025, MedZou is hosting a profit-sharing event with local restaurants. During this time, just present this flyer when ordering with you and your party, and a portion of the meal’s proceeds will be donated to support MedZou’s work. That means you can help provide free medications, tests, and treatments for vulnerable patients in Missouri--all while supporting local restaurants!

Hello Everyone,

MedZou’s virtual 5k race will be taking place next Saturday, May 29th at 9AM!

Here’s how to join:

1. Make a Strava account at www.strava.com
2. Join the Medzou’s Strava club at www.strava.com/clubs/medzou
3. Hit “I’m in” for the race on Memorial Day weekend, May 29th
4. Be sure to record your run using the Strava app each time you have a training session leading up to the race. Everyone else will be sharing, so get motivated!
5. Record your 5k run—anywhere you want—on the day of the race. We are planning exciting prizes for overall winners and most impressive couch-to-5k times!

A selection of consolation prizes will be awarded to a random selection of participants as well, so don’t think you have to be a world-class runner to participate.

Anyone can race, but eligibility for prizes requires submitting an entry fee of $5 for all students and $10 to -fundraising using Venmo. Be sure to include your name and whether you are a student.

Any and all donations go toward MedZou Community health clinic, Mizzou’s free, student-run clinic serving uninsured patients in and around Columbia.

Patients seeking outpatient care can visit the Family Health Center at or 573-214-2314. Additionally, free virtual COVID-19 visits are available online at MUHealthVideoVisits.org.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please call the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services at 877-435-8411.

MedZou is incredibly excited to announce that we have been gifted a grant of $5000 from Ameren Missouri to help support our "MedZou Patient Medication Assistance Fund". As a free clinic for individuals without health insurance, pharmaceutical costs are a consistent barrier. This grant will aid us in providing continued care and medication access, especially during the current pandemic.

Exciting news from the polls yesterday! Missouri voters decided to expand Medicaid to now cover health insurance for over 200,000 low-income adults.
