Our community partners at the American Heart Association want to help educate our clients and caregivers about the difference between heat stroke and stroke; knowing the difference could safe a life.

Heat Stroke vs. Stroke: Know the Difference

• Heat Stroke happens when your body overheats and your core temperature rises above 104°F.
• Stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain is blocked or bursts, cutting off oxygen. Brain cells begin to die with lack of blood and oxygen.

Both are serious—but they’re not the same.

When the Heat Rises, So Do Heart Risks

Extreme heat isn’t just uncomfortable—it can be dangerous, especially for those with existing heart disease. Our community partners at the American Heart Association warn that high temperatures and dehydration can cause your heart to work harder, putting it under significant stress.

Today is Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States over 160 years ago. We take this time to remember and acknowledge the bravery of those who fought for equality, and the resilience of all who suffered under the institution of slavery.

Today marks the start of National Nursing Assistants Week! This week is dedicated to celebrating our amazing caregivers, who get up every morning and raise the bar by embodying our CARE Values and delivering on our mission to provide care to clients when they need it most.

The theme for National Nursing Assistants Week this year is 'We are the Champions,' reminding us that these very special people earned their spot at the top of the podium! Help us make these healthcare heroes feel appreciated this week! Thank you, nursing assistants, for everything you do.

“As a nurse, we have the opportunity to heal the mind, soul, heart, and body of our patients. They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”— Maya Angelou

Today marks the start of National Nurses Week, and we’d like to take the time to thank our nurses, RNs and LPNs for embodying our Care Values: Compassion, Attitude, Respect, and Excellence.

This year's theme, 'The Power of Nurses', is fitting as we acknowledge and appreciate the amazing contributions you make across the in-home care landscape and, most importantly, to the lives of our patients—which will always be our true north.

Happy Nurses Week and thank you!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate from our family to yours! We hope your day is filled with joy and togetherness!
