Cindy’s esthetic’s career began with an abiding desire to help people. She has treated a variety of skin types and conditions performing over ten thousand facials. She has served as Lead Esthetician for a spa with five locations training and mentoring new esthetician while continuing to serve her customer base. With her extensive knowledge and experience in the skin care industry, Cindy transitioned her professional career to Medical Esthetics performing advanced esthetic procedures. In addition to her esthetics and medical background, Cindy is an Alumni Educator for Von Lee International School of Aesthetics. With her comprehensive knowledge and background, Cindy’s eagerness to create her own methods and treatments inspired her to launch Water and Leaf Skincare. Water and Leaf Skincare specializes in custom facial treatments tailored to each person and embraces an integrated approach by combining non-invasive treatments and products to achieve healthy beautiful skin. Cindy’s overriding philosophy is to treat her client’s individual skin condition. Her goal is that each appointment is more than a facial, but an experience with results. Here’s why Biotin is a NO NO for acneic skin

Biotin has a way of ramping up the production of skin protein, specifically keratin. Keratin is great for hair and nails, however the problem arises when there is an excess of keratin clogging pores and mixing with your natural oils. This causes sticky plugs that leads to blackheads, comedones, and visible acne.

Biotin can also trigger cystic acne. So it’s like this, the clogged pores mentioned above get buried under your skin and surrounded by rapidly growing skin. The outcome? Stubborn and painful cystic acne.

Another issue with Biotin is that it competes with and messes up the receptor activity of other B vitamins, like B5 (Pantothetic acid). B5 is crucial for maintaining skin health and adrenal function.

So, in a nutshell, supplements can have their drawbacks. In this case, steer clear of biotin if you want to keep your skin breakout free. Alternatives are Zinc and Omega 3 fish oil supplements.

Cindy’s esthetic’s career began with an abiding desire to help people. She has treated a variety of skin types and conditions performing over nine thousand facials. As the Lead Esthetician for a spa with five locations Cindy trained and mentored new esthetician while continuing to serve her customer base and is an Alumni Educator for Von Lee International School of Aesthetics. Along with her extensive knowledge and experience in the skin care industry, Cindy trained and worked along-side a Doctor at a prestigious medical spa in Maryland performing advanced medical esthetic procedures. With her comprehensive knowledge and background, Cindy’s eagerness to create her own methods and treatments inspired her to launch Water and Leaf Skincare.

Water and Leaf Skincare specializes in custom facials and peels tailored to each person and embraces an integrated approach by combining non-invasive treatments and products to achieve healthy beautiful skin. Cindy’s overriding philosophy is to treat her client’s individual skin condition and not simply their skin type, color or blindly apply traditional solutions. Her goal is that each appointment is more than a facial, but an experience with results.
