So many things in life require delayed gratification. For example: Learning how to love and communicate in relationships, Wisdom in finances, Working through trauma, Rewriting negative thinking patterns, Grieving, etc.

Sometimes it’s nice to get a “win” and have healthy instant gratification. Looking for small wins in big tasks can help with motivation and hopefulness. Sometimes I want to feel that “success” quickly, and thing that works for me to feel accomplished (immediate gratification / requires little effort / clear, quick results) is painting, what works for you?

Getting to hang out at a counselor training with old friends!

All 3 of us spent the day learning from the guru of Blended/Stepfamily Counseling, Ron Deal. I came away with a lot of good info to pass along to families and couples.

Check out all of Ron Deal's books on stepfamilies, dating after a divorce, preparing to marry and blend families, etc. He has a book for just about everything.

In the Fall of 2022, Andrea and Matt worked to start Blue Tree, LLC.

Andrea’s family was instrumental behind the scenes. Her sister, daughter and husband were a big help, physically and emotionally. No one was a bigger supporter of us than Andrea’s mom, who we affectionately call “Gran”. She was encouraging, ran countless errands and her eye for decorating created much of what you see in our suite.

Sadly, Gran passed away in 2024. We love and miss her very much.
