🧠💥 Behind every meltdown is a nervous system that’s still under construction. 🧩

Emotional self-regulation isn't something kids just know how to do—it’s something they’re learning, just like walking, talking, or tying their shoes. 🧒👟

When children are overwhelmed, their brains may go into “fight, flight, or freeze” mode. That’s not bad behavior. That’s a sign their nervous system is doing what it knows—but it hasn’t yet learned how to pause, breathe, and choose a better way. 🛑💨

🧠 Think of their self-regulation system like a house still being built—some walls are up, but the roof isn’t finished, and the tools are still scattered everywhere.

That’s why kids need:
🫶 Support
🪜 Scaffolding
🧘‍♀️ Co-regulation
🕰️ Time

Let’s meet kids where they are, not where we wish they were.
Their emotional growth is happening—even if it’s messy sometimes. 🌱💚
