Here they are… all finished up.
Earlier this week these honey locust boards were rough slabs on the shop floor.
Now look at them. Can you believe how beautiful they turned out?
We haven’t been at the farmers market in a little while…
but we’ll be back this weekend — and so will these six beauties.
Come see them in person.
Which one is your favorite now? (1–6)
We still can’t get over how wild the grain is in honey locust.

These look a little rough right now, but just wait… they’re going to shine up beautifully.
We’re making a batch of charcuterie boards from locally harvested honey locust here at Sawdust Studios. It’s one of our favorite woods. When you cut into it, it literally smells like Honeycomb cereal.
Each board has its own shape and character.
Which one is your favorite? (1–6)
Also curious — have you ever seen or used anything made from honey locust?

Cerulean blue — a vivid sky-and-water blue often seen where clear water reflects bright sunlight.
This striking epoxy serving tray pairs rich walnut wood with a flowing pour of cerulean blue epoxy. The vibrant epoxy brightens and reveals layers within the pour, giving the impression of water catching and reflecting sunlight, creating movement across the surface as if a stream were running through the wood. The walnut channels frame the color beautifully, giving the piece both warmth and depth.
Measuring 21⅞ inches by 14 inches with a 1½-inch depth, the tray features a clean beveled edge that gives it a refined profile while keeping it sturdy for serving, and it’s finished with Missouri Gold — Sawdust Studios’ latest food-safe finish, making it ready for everyday use.
Made by Zach, available at Sawdust Studios.

You won't find a pizza peel like this anywhere else.

We looked. Most are plain bamboo or boring single-wood. This is a full cutting board-style glue-up with contrasting Missouri hardwoods. Actually beautiful.

Two chances to make one:

Friday, March 6 at 9am (take the morning off)
Monday, March 30 at 2:30pm (leave work early, home for dinner)

You'll glue up the wood, run it through the planer to bevel the blade edge, shape the curved handle. 12-14" wide. Ready for your next homemade pizza night.

$149. Everything included.

Something new in the shop.
For a long time we’ve been searching for a furniture finish we really loved using.
A lot of modern finishes contain solvents, VOCs, and ingredients we didn’t want in our shop or on the furniture we make.
So we started experimenting with different oils, waxes, and blends until we landed on something that felt right.
After months of testing we mixed our first batch this week and started pouring tins.
We’re calling it Missouri Gold Hardwax Oil.
It’s a furniture finish made from natural oils and waxes with:
• No VOCs
• Safe to handle during application
• Food safe once fully cured
• No unnecessary additives
Just simple ingredients doing their job.
Mixed and poured right here at Sawdust Studios.
We’re excited to finally share it.

Substantial enough for real work, yet sized for easy storage.
At 12×18 inches, this board is the perfect fit for smaller kitchens or for those evenings when you need a hearty surface to prep dinner for two.
This honey locust cutting board stands out with its distinctive blue-gray grain running horizontally across the surface — a natural detail that gives the board depth, movement, and character you won’t find in mass-produced pieces.
Made by Brooke, this piece is built for everyday use and designed to last.
Available now at The Store at Sawdust Studios.
