"One of the best instructional videos I've seen in 50 years of education."

"I watch woodworking videos every day, and I've never learned this much from a single video."

This is the feedback we got from members after dropping our Charcuterie Board tutorial. Not gonna lie—it feels pretty incredible. 🙌

🎥 Watch the full tutorial on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sojYRrLcp6U&t=245s

But here's what makes us even more excited: our members didn't just watch a video. They walked into our shop with 24/7 access, grabbed premium Missouri hardwoods, and MADE THESE BOARDS THEMSELVES.

That's the difference between watching woodworking content and actually being a woodworker.

Our Project Kit videos aren't just tutorials—they're your roadmap to using $200,000+ of professional tools, premium materials, and a community that's got your back. No intimidation. No gatekeeping. Just real guidance that turns "I wish I could" into "look what I made."

📅 NOVEMBER CALENDAR + BIG CHANGES AHEAD

November is LOADED (swipe through all 6 slides ➡️):
🎁 5 gift-giving workshops
🦃 Thanksgiving showstoppers
❄️ Kids sled camp
🪚 Intro to Woodworking
🪑 Apprenticeship
💑 Better Together

We're changing things up.
After November, we're shifting how we offer workshops. No more monthly calendars—we're moving to a private event model while still offering select public workshops.
What this means:
✨ Private events become our primary focus (teams, groups, corporate bookings)
✨ Select public workshops still happen (Intro to Woodworking, bowl turning, member favorites—announced as scheduled)
✨ Gift workshops continue in December
✨ Kids camps continue on school breaks
✨ Apprenticeship continues strong
✨ Membership unchanged—24/7 access continues

November is your last chance to plan around a full calendar. After this, we'll announce workshops as we schedule them.

Why the change? Because we're committed to making Sawdust the best it can be—and this evolution lets us do exactly that.

New workshop webpage in the works. Stay tuned for a better booking experience.

⚔️ The Epic of the 1st Annual Sawdust Studios Kubb Tournament

We were going to start at 3:00… but nobody really cared.
The only rule: finish before dark. 🌅

Six teams entered the grass outside Sawdust Studios:
Bright Ideas, Beat KU, Payne in the Kubb, Lilac Butt, Eagle Ace Bowls, and the Dusty Dudes.

The tacos were endless. The throws? Questionable. The laughter? Constant. 🌮🍻

After hours of glory and groans, it came down to Payne in the Kubb vs. the Dusty Dudes.

One perfect throw later—the King Kubb fell.
The Dusty Dudes stood victorious.

🏆 The King Kubb Trophy, crafted from Walnut, Oak, Maple, Hickory, Ash, and Purpleheart, now bears its first engraving:
Dusty Dudes 2025

No thunderous applause. Just quiet promises of revenge.
The legend has begun.

⚔️ The Epic of the 1st Annual Sawdust Studios Kubb Tournament

🌮 Where the grass was uneven, the tacos were endless, and vengeance was promised before sunset.

---

🪓 The Gathering at Sawdust

We were going to start at 3:00 PM, but nobody really cared — the only real rule was we had to finish before dark.

Beneath the proud tin walls of Sawdust Studios, the warriors gathered.
The battlefield was marked by crooked stakes and questionable measuring, but no one minded. The smell of tacos, beer, and fresh-cut grass was victory enough.

The weapons were not of war, but of wood: Ash, Oak, Hickory, Walnut, Maple, and a defiant strip of Purpleheart — each one hewn from the shop’s finest offcuts.

---

🧠 The Contenders

Six mighty teams entered the fray:

Bright Ideas – creative thinkers, inconsistent throwers.

Beat KU – fired by passion, hindered by aim.

Payne in the Kubb – pun masters with a taste for blood.

Lilac Butt – no one knew why, no one dared ask.

Eagle Ace Bowls – elegant in form, deadly when focused.

Dusty Dudes – calm, quiet, and unnervingly accurate, as if they’d been training in secret all year.

---

💥 The Early Battles

The first clashes began with cheers, groans, and a few wild throws that endangered spectators.

Payne in the Kubb stormed through their bracket before the tacos even cooled.
Eagle Ace Bowls made their mark but fell victim to the cruel geometry of kubb physics.
And the Dusty Dudes, stoic and focused, advanced—one precise throw at a time.

Meanwhile, the Silver Bracket became a land of laughter and excuses, where warriors insisted the grass was crooked, the wind unfair, or that someone had hexed their dowels.

---

⚔️ The Final Showdown

By the last round, the tacos were still plentiful, the light still golden, and the championship hung in the balance:
Payne in the Kubb vs. Dusty Dudes.

Spectators gathered at the edge of the field with sodas, cervezas, and unsolicited advice.
Kubbs fell fast. Payne in the Kubb was sharp, relentless, and hungry for glory.

But the Dusty Dudes, channeling the patience of seasoned woodworkers, would not yield.

With one final throw, the King Kubb toppled.
The crowd gasped.
Some cheered.
Most groaned.
And someone muttered, “Yeah, well… next year’s ours.”

---

🏆 The Coronation

As the sun dipped low, the champions raised the King Kubb Trophy — a glorious hodgepodge of Walnut, Oak, Maple, Hickory, Ash, and Purpleheart.

It stood tall, proud, and slightly heavier than expected.
There was no thunderous applause — only laughter, empty taco containers, and muttered vows of revenge.

---

🌅 The Trophy’s Legacy

But the King Kubb Trophy does not rest forever. It waits.
Each year, a new name will be engraved in its wooden base like a scar of glory.

The first inscription will read:
Dusty Dudes 2025

Next year, a new team will rise.
The legend will grow, one match at a time, until the trophy itself hums with the echoes of every throw, every laugh, and every whispered promise of “next year.”

---

✨ Thus it was written:

> When the dust settles and the tacos are gone,
the Dusty Dudes stand victorious.
(For now…)

24 people walked in doubting.
24 cutting boards walked out proving them wrong.
This is what happens when you give people premium tools, expert guidance, and permission to discover what they're capable of.
An Edward Jones leadership team spent yesterday in our shop, and watching them transform from "I've never done this before" to "look what I just made" never gets old.
✂️ Every person made their own custom cutting board
✨ Every board was professionally engraved
🤝 Every teammate discovered something new about each other
💪 Every single person succeeded
The shop was alive - busy, energized, full of collaboration and celebration. This is exactly why we exist.
Because when people create something with their own hands, something shifts. Confidence builds. Connections deepen. The impossible becomes "I can't believe I just did that."
