Ever wonder what those circular bruises or marks might be from? It might be cupping! And not like the ones from The Coffee Pot☕😅

Cupping therapy is a technique available in physical therapy to help:
✨Reduce muscle tension
✨Speed up recovery
✨Improve circulation
✨Relieve pain

By creating suction on the skin, cupping helps bring blood flow to tight or sore areas! It can help separate the layers of tissue to release restrictions and allow tissues to glide better.

✨Welcome to the team, Nolan!✨

Nolan grew up in Freeburg, Illinois, graduating from Freeburg High School. He graduated from Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, from the Physical Therapist Assistant program with an associate’s degree in applied science in 2025. Nolan graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was awarded the Kimberly Snyder PTA Excellence Award. During his time in the program, Nolan served as the PTA Club president, a peer tutor, and the IPTA PTA Director.

His passion for physical therapy was sparked by an injury he sustained while playing soccer in high school, which led to his recovery through physical therapy. He is continuing his education by pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy. He has a passion for treating patients in recovery to help them achieve their goals and return to a healthy lifestyle.

Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Nolan enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on hikes, playing soccer, running, and engaging in fun adventures. 🏃

Our patient spotlight this month is Darcy V! Darcy is a Columbia PT Grad. She completed extensive rehab for a foot surgery with great determination and perseverance to continue enjoying hiking and outdoor activities! Darcy has recently completed a major life goal of summitting Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa this past January!
Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment! We are so proud of you! 💪
