Recently, one of our staff members at BRIA of Columbia was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Our staff, residents, and family wanted to let Natalie know that we stand behind her and love her. Friday night we are having a night at the Grizzly game for "Natalie Night". We encourage as many staff members to join us that can!

We had a successful Nursing Home Week at BRIA of Columbia! Each day had a fun theme, and most importantly, the residents had a wonderful time. Our schedule for the week was:

Monday: Nerd Day

Tuesday: Tye Dye Day

Wednesday: Western Day - we had an ice cream cart for the residents, wheelchair races, water pistol fights, and foot races.

Thursday: Decade Day - our staff was heavy on the 90s, karaoke, and the residents got to vote on which managers they wanted to throw a pie at. Jacob Rozich - maintenance, Corinna Hipp - Director of Nursing, Meghan Friederich - Administrative Assistance, Hailey Kinder - Housekeeping Manager, and Mandi Stewart - Treatment Nurse all got pied!

Friday: BRIA T-Shirt Day - the staff and residents enjoyed some BBQ, outdoor board games, and axe throwing (with foam axes, of course!)

We’d like to spotlight two of our amazing nurses—Mandi and Amanda! ⭐️ These two play such an important role in our facility and we couldn’t be more thankful for all they do. Here’s a little bit more about each of them:

Mandi brings to the team, “a contagious laugh and great dedication to the residents. Mandi is extremely knowledgeable with wounds.” Mandi says, "I have been a nurse for 12 years, my favorite part of being a part of Columbia is the camaraderie and watching the team come together for our residents. My favorite part of being a nurse is helping our residents and being there for them when their loved ones can not be."

Amanda is the Infection Preventionist for our facility, and our Director of Nursing says, “She single handedly is one of the greatest assets to our facility. Amanda is the go-to person for everyone at BRIA, whether it be staff, residents, or family members, everyone runs to her first to answer their questions. I think I speak for the entire team when I say we couldn't make it through the day without her."
