This month's Member Spotlight is Emily Kasir, LPC! Emily works with clients struggling with grief, anxiety/OCD, and body image. Emily is a grief specialist and she feels passionate about walking with clients through the difficulties of loss.
*What do you enjoy most about your job?*
I love being able to empower my clients towards growth, healing, and self-love. It’s incredibly meaningful to witness clients step into bravery, vulnerability, and trust as they move towards their goals.
*What refuels you outside of work?*
I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends; being outdoors, loving animals, cooking, baking, playing games, and interior design are all fun and bring me joy.
*What would you tell your younger self about your career now?*
Thank you, younger Emily. Your bravery and resilience helped shape the path I'm on today and continue to inspire the way I show up for others. Because of you, I have chosen a career rooted in compassion and care in a deeply meaningful way, and I'm so proud of you.
*What do you wish clients knew about you that you don't normally get to share?*
I feel incredibly honored to be a therapist. I don’t take the trust clients place in me lightly, and I’m deeply grateful to walk alongside you in your journey. No two sessions are the same, and I truly value meeting you wherever you are.
*What advice would you give to a new therapist?*
1. Invest in your own healing-- some of the most impactful lessons I’ve learned have come from being a client myself.
2. Seek mentorship-- when imposter syndrome shows up, having someone who believes in you, supports your growth, and gently challenges you is invaluable.
3. Prioritize your support system-- this work requires care not just for others, but for yourself as well.
*What is it like being a member at CCC?*
It’s not an exaggeration to call this space life-changing. It’s allowed me to focus on what I love most about my work while also being part of a supportive, healthy, and warm environment. Being a member at CCC has given me the space to grow into the best version of myself as a therapist and build truly meaningful connections along the way.
