MEET Hannah Clevenger- Certified Nurse Practitioner

A native of Pasadena, Maryland, Hannah received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stevenson University. Upon graduation, she worked as a Registered Nurse at The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. She then went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing in Family Nurse Practitioner from The George Washington University. Hannah has also worked as a Clinical Supervisor for nursing students in their final semester at Stevenson University.

Serving the communities of Annapolis, Columbia, and Olney, Hannah is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is passionate about reducing health disparities and providing preventative care. She takes pride in her ability to listen to her patients in order to provide individualized care.

โญAbout Dr. R. Ryan Byrneโญ

Dr. R. Ryan Byrne is board certified in gastroenterology & hepatology and internal medicine. He joins Gastro Center of Maryland after 12 years of service as a U.S. Air Force physician, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his military career, he was honored to care for active duty service members, their families, and veterans. He is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, guided by the belief that achieving a patientโ€™s goals requires compassionate, collaborative care grounded in the latest evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Byrne was born and raised in the Chicago area. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He began active duty in San Antonio, Texas, where he completed his internal medicine residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, the Department of Defenseโ€™s largest hospital. He then served for 3 years as an internist and medical director at RAF Lakenheath in England, before returning to Brooke Army Medical Center to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology and join the teaching faculty. He also deployed to Qatar in support of U.S. and Coalition forces.

Dr. Byrne was drawn to gastroenterology for its broad range of conditions and the opportunity to perform endoscopic procedures.

In his free time Dr. Byrne loves to travel, golf, and attend concerts and sporting events.

MEET Colleen Abell, CRNP - Certified Nurse Practitioner

๐ŸŸฃ About Colleen ๐ŸŸฃ

Colleen Abell is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in 2006. She has practiced as a nurse practitioner for the past sixteen years. Ms. Abell's experience includes working in a family medical clinic, but she spent most of her career providing care for patients recovering from Bariatric and GI surgical/oncology procedures. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Ms. Abell worked as a Registered Nurse in cardiology and emergency medicine.

MEET Emily Ohland, PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant!

๐ŸŸข About Emily ๐ŸŸข

Emily Ohland is a board-certified Physician Assistant. Originally from New Jersey, she completed her bachelorโ€™s degree at The College of New Jersey in 2011. She went on to earn a Masterโ€™s in Physician Assistant Studies from DeSales University in 2013. Emily worked in emergency medicine at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore prior to joining the Gastro Center of Maryland in 2017. Emily treats a wide range of acute and chronic diseases with compassion and a focus on patient-centered care.

She lives in Baltimore County with her husband and daughter. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and gardening.
