Since 1967, Senior Resources has served Columbia's frail and elderly residents in three areas:
1) In-home services, including Meals on Wheels, home care, respite care, senior companion services, and case management;
2) Community-based services, including congregate meals, wellness centers, transportation, and physical fitness;
3) Volunteer services, including the Senior Companion program and Fost

er Grandparent program. Senior Resources offers a variety of programs so that our clients can select the assistance they need to maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle. With the support of our staff and volunteers, our services touch the lives of more than 4,000 Midlands residents.

Route of the Week: Route 204 💙

Routes are more than just deliveries—they’re relationships. Route 204 is a perfect example of that.

While covering the route this week, our Director of In-Home Services quickly realized just how special this group of volunteers is. Clients were waiting at the door, eager to greet their regulars and asking by name, “Where’s Joe? Where’s Ernie?”

That kind of connection doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from consistency, kindness, and the dedication our volunteers bring every single day.

Although the substitute visit was appreciated, it was clear: this community truly values the familiar faces who brighten their day along with their meals.

When it’s all hands on deck, we’re reminded just how powerful teamwork truly is.

This week, our Director of Finance, Director of Community-Based Services, Director of AmeriCorps Seniors, and Director of Development, along with their dedicated teams, stepped out from behind their desks and into the field, running routes to ensure every senior we serve is cared for and fed.

We are incredibly grateful to DAV Charitable Service Trust for their generous $35,000 grant supporting veterans through our Meals on Wheels program.

Because of their support, we are able to continuing serving 140 veterans in Richland County, ensuring they receive the meals and care they deserve.

This week, we also had the honor of speaking with Mr. McGee, one of the veterans we serve, who graciously shared his story with us.

Thank you, DAV, for helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served our country.

Senior Resources, Inc. is looking for a Lourie Center Programs Coordinator to join our team.

This role leads the planning and coordination of programs at Lourie Center SC —supporting social engagement, fitness, education, and cultural enrichment for older adults in our community.

What you’ll do:
• Coordinate and schedule programs & instructors
• Manage member records and attendance
• Serve as a key point of contact for participants and partners
• Evaluate programs and track outcomes
• Ensure compliance with policies and funding requirements

Details:
📍 Full-time, salaried (exempt)
📊 Reports to Director of Community Based Services

Qualifications:
• High school diploma required (Bachelor’s preferred)
• 3+ years of related experience (senior services preferred)
• Strong organizational, communication, and tech skills
