✨ A Message from Lindsay, our BCBA Founder ✨

I want to share something important with families considering ABA therapy.

ABA is not an “all-in-one” service. The truth is: ABA should collaborate — not replace — other therapies.

ABA is not Speech, OT, PT, or Early Intervention. Trying to be those things would be practicing outside of our scope. Instead, ABA works best when we are part of a team, coordinating care and supporting the whole child alongside other providers.

If your child needs additional services, insurance can often approve them on a case-by-case basis. You do not need to choose “all or nothing.” Look for an ABA provider who will build a schedule that fits your family while respecting the role of other therapies.

When ABA providers tell families to “drop” other therapies, it hurts collaboration — and ultimately, kidz. Sadly, I’ve seen this create mistrust and even discourage other professionals from recommending ABA at all.

💡 Families, please know: the best ABA providers will welcome and work alongside your other providers — never replace them.

Our approach is always guided by respect, safety, and empowerment — so families and professionals can see not only what each child can do, but also how to encourage growth through trust, collaboration, and real-life learning opportunities.

We will begin assessments for Mooresville NC Clinic the first week of October. We will keep our program small, first come first serve - email intake@mksempower.com with your insurance provider so we can ensure we are in process of being in network status soon! Goal - Clinic opening November!

Stephanie, one of our incredible clinic BCBAs (and now a new mommy 💕), is back! Her kidz were thrilled to see her—well, except for one who gave her the classic side-eye for being gone 😂. But if there’s anyone who knows how to rebuild strong, loving connections, it’s Stephanie! We’re so happy to have her back on the team! Big hugs all around!!

We are so excited to welcome Sophie to the Mighty Kidz Services NC & SC team! She brings with her a passion for ABA, a heart for compassionate care, and a love for celebrating the growth of every child and family she works with!

Here’s what Sophie had to share:

Welcome message-

Hi everyone! My name is Sophie, and I truly believe I have the best job in the world—supporting and playing alongside the amazing young minds of our future leaders!

I was born in Oahu, Hawai‘i, and have spent most of my life in North Carolina. My love for the ocean carried me to UNC Wilmington, where I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies. Now, I’m happily settled in Charlotte with my wonderful fiancé and our doggie daughter, Hurley.

I’ve been in the ABA field for a few years, and I’m so excited to be joining the Mighty Kidz Services team! What drew me to this company is their commitment to growth, education, and most importantly, providing compassionate, assent-based learning through trauma-informed care. I can’t wait to continue learning, collaborating, and celebrating the incredible achievements of the children and families we serve.
