Something I learn hard way: not everyone want to be rescues. Some people see life raft and still decline help. Because they are too proud or too stuck in trauma ro realize that they are drowning. And if you try to rescue them you might drown too. Because they are more comfortable with drowning and safety feels scary. You can rescue self though. Responsible only to self. Unless have minor children.
