Did you know we offer fingernail and toenail drug testing?

Fingernails test back to 6 months of drug activity, and toenails go back a year! We can test up to 17 drugs + alcohol.

Fingernail samples are clipped and collected by the donor in front of a trained collection staff member. A clipping of 2-3 mm long (about the width of a quarter) from all ten fingernails will give about 100 mg of sample, the ideal amount for screening and confirmation.

Prices vary, call D-TAP at 888-230-7424 for more information!

Originally developed as a synthetic drug 1959, Phencyclidine (P*P, or angel dust) is a dissociative anesthetic. In its pure form, P*P is a white, crystalline powder. Usually smoked, P*P can also be taken orally, snorted, or injected. It is sold in capsules, tablets, powder, and liquid. Most often the crystalline powder is sprinkled on a leafy substance—tobacco, parsley, mint, oregano, or marijuana—and then smoked in rolled ci******es.

The effects of P*P can be unpredictable and are often severe. Moderate doses (5 milligrams or less), generally produce initial feelings of relaxation and mild euphoria, but depression, anxiety, or disorientation can also result. Within the normal dosage range, users feel powerful, “spaced out,” or detached and may experience LSD-like visual distortions. Physical effects include: rising heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature; flushing and sweating; shallow breathing; numbness; and some loss of coordination.

At higher doses, respiration drops and users may experience nausea, vomiting, loss of balance, and dizziness. They often display dramatic mood swings and are prone to anxiety, paranoia, and aggressiveness. Violence is not uncommon.

Paranoid delusions and aggressive behavior are sometimes followed by P*P-induced psychosis that may mimic symptoms of schizophrenia. Psychotic episodes can last several days, and it may take as long as two weeks for patients to return to normal. At toxic levels, or when interacting with alcohol or other depressant drugs, P*P can prove fatal, causing convulsions, coma, and respiratory arrest.

Did you know we offer Hair Follicle Drug Testing?

Hair Follicle Testing for drugs is the one of the only ways to get an in depth assessment of 90 days to a year to determine if someone has been using drugs. This is a great test for an employer or parent.

We offer simple specimen collection and highly accurate results that meet the same reference standards as urine testing. In addition, there are no known methods for sample adulteration (hair washing will not dilute the sample). Because specimen collection can be directly observed, the risk of adulteration is even further reduced.

We get the results back to you quicker: Negative results are reported within 24 hours of receipt at the laboratory, and positive results are confirmed using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) or gas chromatography/mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (GC/MS/MS) within 48 to 72 hours. Hair testing is also forensically defensible.

When compared with urine specimen testing, hair testing provides up to 2.5 times the number of positives and a longer detection window. Hair testing can test for the following classes of drugs and MORE:

Amphetamines (including Ecstasy)
Co***ne
Ma*****na
Opiates
Phencyclidine (P*P)

PEthStat for Blood Alcohol – Phosphatidylethanol:
The most innovative and rapid way to test for PEth that allows you to look back 2-4 weeks of alcohol use!

Dried blood spot collection is the fastest, most convenient way to test for phosphatidylethanol (PEth). Research suggests a PEth test can differentiate between incidental exposure (hand sanitizer use, etc.) and the intentional use of ethanol. A PEth test in blood gives up to approximately 2-4 week history of alcohol abuse. The specimen amount is 5 dried blood spots from a finger puncture.

CDC Reports U.S. Overall Drug Overdose Death Rate Down, But Opioid Overdose Death Rate Up by 10% in 2018

CDC Reports U.S. Drug Overdose Death Rate Down, Opioid Overdose Death Rate Up in 2018

The age-adjusted rate of U.S. drug overdose deaths in 2018 was 4.6% lower than the rate in 2017, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday.

New data from the National Vital Statistics System also show there were 67,367 drug overdose deaths in the United States in 2018, 4.1% fewer than the 70,237 deaths reported in 2017.

Despite the decline in overall drug overdose deaths, there was a 10% increase in the rate of drug overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids other than methadone, such asfentanyl, in 2018 compared with 2017.

Furthermore, the age-adjusted rate of overdose deaths involving co***ne more than tripled from 2012 through 2018, while the rate of deaths involving certain psychostimulants, such as methamphetamine, increased nearly five-fold.

The CDC also reported the decrease in life expectancy between 2014 and 2017 was driven mostly by increases in mortality due to deaths from unintentional injuries, su***de, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Improvements in life expectancy between 2017 and 2018, meanwhile, were driven by decreases in mortality from cancer, unintentional injuries, and chronic lower respiratorydiseases. The positive contributions to the change in life expectancy were offset, in part, by the rising number of deaths by su***de, chronic liver disease, and cirrhosis.

Unintentional injuries and su***de remain in the top ten leading cause of death in the United States.
