Even if you're feeling better, it's important to keep taking your medication as directed. When it comes to antibiotics, you always want to finish the full course of what was prescribed. This ensures that all of the bacteria that caused you to get sick in the first place are gone.
If you're tempted to stop a routine prescription, like blood pressure, depression or anxiety, diabetes, etc., it's important to talk to your doctor first. Stopping some medications abruptly can have serious consequences, so it's important to have a conversation with your health care provider before discontinuing any medications on your own.

Planning on doing some spring cleaning? Don't forget to clean out your medicine cabinet. Disposing of old or no-longer-used medicine can keep your or another member of your household from accidently taking something they shouldn't.

Not sure how to dispose of medication? Here's some helpful info:
-Never flush medicine down the toilet!
-Locate a drug-take-back program. Find places close to you with this link: https://marc-gis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/interactivelegend/index.html?appid=b29776fe7f634601a9d88c8e31941408
-Safely dispose of meds at home with these steps:
1. Keep products in their original container. (Remove label or conceal information with a permanent marker.)
2. To make the drug unusable, add a small amount of water to a solid drug and recap the container. For liquids, add some absorbent material such as kitty litter, sawdust or flour.
3. Place the container in another container or a heavy bag.
4. Place item in the trash.
