🍼 Baby Safety Month – Why It Matters More Than Ever
September is Baby Safety Month — a time to spotlight the importance of keeping our little ones safe, healthy and thriving. From their first breath, babies rely on us to create a secure environment where they can grow and explore with confidence.
🏠 Sadly, many accidents happen at home — but the good news is most are preventable with the right knowledge and preparation.
Here are four key areas every parent and caregiver should focus on:
🔹 Safe Sleep Practices
Always place babies on their backs to sleep in a crib free of loose blankets, pillows or toys.
🔹 Car Seat Safety
Make sure car seats are properly installed and fit your baby’s age, weight and height.
🔹 Home Safety
Use outlet covers, secure heavy furniture and install baby gates to reduce risks around the house.
🔹 Health & Wellness
Stay on top of well-baby visits, vaccinations and developmental screenings to support your baby’s growth.
At Healthy Blue SC, we’re committed to helping families build safer homes and healthier futures. Let’s work together to protect our tiniest community members.

Keep Your Baby Safe
When you're pregnant, it's important to stay away from alcohol, to***co, and drugs. What you use also goes to your baby, and it can hurt their growth and health.
Even small amounts can be risky. Your baby could be born needing treatment or face a higher chance of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
If you want help quitting, talk to your doctor. They can help you find support and care to keep you and your baby safe.
Need extra help?
Our Care Management team is here for you. They can answer questions and guide you through your pregnancy.
