Through connection, support and understanding, Healing Hearts creates a space for families to remember, heal and move forward.

Healing Hearts Grief program is free and meets at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in the Midlands. The dates for the Spring 2026 series include: February 26, March 19 and April 23.

Our team at Prisma Health Richland enrolled our first patient in the STARI clinical trial, a moment that represents countless hours of preparation, collaboration and belief in what research can do for patients. We are honored to be the only site in the Southeast and the third in the nation to reach this milestone.

STARI is an FDA-investigational study exploring a new way to support patients on mechanical ventilation, with the hope of helping them breathe more naturally and recover sooner.

This milestone belongs to an incredible team: Adult Multispecialty Clinical Research Team, Respiratory Therapist, Critical Care Nurses and leading the charge, our Critical Care Physicians, who poured their time, expertise and hearts into making this possible. Most importantly, this milestone belongs to the patients and families who trust us during some of their hardest moments.

This is why we do research and this why the work matters - this is only the beginning.
