Here’s a pic of my spinal fusion success! I am glad I was finally able to have this done. Yesterday was the first day in the last decade that I took no pain med of any kind, not even Tylenol! At just over 4 months, the doc says I am cleared to resume doing all massage strokes and yoga postures, and I am free to dance! 🧘🏼♀️💃🏼
The blocks/discs between the vertebrae are what they built from a combo of my own and cadaver bone. The shadows in the top circled are what is still filling in, and the solid white in the lower one shows it is almost completley fused. It can take up to a year, but I am well ahead of schedule.
I’ve been working hard at my nutrition and cautiously rebuilding my core strength, but was limited to no bending, lifting, or twisting~~so this very good news for someone who loves to MOVE! Most PT and strength training was also off limits, but now I have more ways to increase my flexibility, muscle mass, endurance, and balance. Exercise is a huge part of being a healthy, but especially as a Senior! Now I’m looking forward to the next decade 🥰
