This summer, the Inpatient Unit Nursing Team at OSS Health took part in a special community outreach initiative that impacted local elementary students.

The team came together to support Arthur W. Ferguson PreK-8, a local school that serves several members of our own staff and their families. In preparation for the upcoming school year, they collected and donated a wide variety of school supplies to help set students up for success. With contributions from Inpatient Unit staff, along with generous support from various departments within OSS Health, they were able to donate:

Over 100 book bags
Pencil cases
Binders and folders
Pencils and pencil sharpeners
Tissues and hand sanitizer
Crayons, markers, and more

OSS Health couldn't be more proud of our Inpatient Unit Nursing Team and their desire to impact the local community. Incredible employees making the effort each and every day!

This morning, OSS Health Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine Fellows and Athletic Trainers received training on how to spine board injured athletes for follow up care. With direction from local EMS as well as a few of our experienced Pain Management physicians, both groups were able to practice using the proper technique when a cervical spine injury is suspected, including how to safely remove a helmet and jersey as well as immobilization for transport of the athlete.

OSS Health is honored to care for so many local athletes and looks forward to the upcoming start of a successful and safe fall sports season!

Thank you to Menno Haven in Chambersburg for inviting us to speak to your residents on Wednesday. OSS Health Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Devin Olsen, loved the opportunity to answer questions about osteoarthritis of the hip and knee and provide information on various treatment options. We are grateful for the chance to discuss our services and share our knowledge with this Franklin County community.

Dr. Olsen is currently seeing patients at our newest West Shore office located on 1926 Good Hope Rd., Enola.

We love to share our story and connect with the communities we serve. Last Thursday, OSS Health CEO, Shawn Lovelady, spoke at the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg-North weekly meeting. As we continue to expand our services, specifically in the West Shore and Harrisburg area, we will remain committed to providing patients with exceptional orthopaedic care.

On Thursday, OSS Health participated in the 95th Annual Jubilee Day, held on Main and Market Streets in Mechanicsburg. The event is the largest and longest running one-day street fair on the East Coast. Our staff loved the opportunity to speak with so many attendees about our services and locations on the West Shore.

A big thank you to the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce for your hard work in making this event possible, and for allowing us to be a part of it!

It was a great night to play ball! Last evening, OSS Health Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Callista Morris, threw out a first pitch at the Harrisburg Senators game. The opportunity to do so was the result of our support of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Putt it in the Park event, where attendees could play a round of mini golf before taking in the game.

Dr. Morris is currently seeing patients at our newest location on Good Hope Road in Enola and Mechanicsburg.
