Many people have no idea how bad their allergies are actually making them feel. Although most people associate nasal symptoms (such as sneezing and drainage) and eye symptoms (itching and tearing) with allergies, they can, in fact, be much more complicated. Chronic sinus infections and congestion, headaches, fatigue, stomach aches and hives all point to some degree of allergy. In children, allergies can cause anything from skin problems (eczema, hives) to wheezing, reflux, recurrent ear infections and behavioral problems. Dr. Fowler has a firm belief that "whole body health" is the key to making people feel their best. This includes not only good allergy management, but also healthy nutrition, exercise, and limiting excess chemical exposures. Dr. Fowler graduated from Medical School at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After finishing a residency in Pediatrics, she became one of only two people in the country selected for an Allergy and Rhinology fellowship, sponsored by the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. After completion of her fellowship, she was given a dual appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery (Division of Otolaryngology), as well as the Department of Child Health. Dr. Fowler eventually took over the allergy clinic responsibilities full time and worked there several years before she left the University in December 2002. During her tenure at the University of Missouri, Dr. Fowler shared her expertise with colleagues, giving lectures at national meetings of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the American In-Vitro Allergy and Immunology Society. In 2007, Dr. Fowler was the only physician appointed by the governor for the Blue Ribbon Panel for Autism for the State of Missouri. The panel spent that year listening to testimony and gathering recommendations that have led to key policy changes in improving the care of those individuals and families affected by autism. Dr. Fowler is highly regarded for her work in both pediatric and adult allergy management, as well as for her understanding of food allergies.

Hey Fowler Family, checking in to say “Hi”🙋‍♀️ and remind you we’re in the middle of ragweed season — big time🌱 Ragweed is everywhere right now, maybe even in your own backyard! They look like miniature candleabras sticking up out of the sea of green 🌿

Many people mistake goldenrod for ragweed because it blooms at the same time and is easier to identify. This is also a good time to remind you to wear a mask when outside especially between 10 am - 2 pm.

Remember, we’re always just a phone call away if you need us 🫶

Hey y’all just a quick reminder the office is closed next week 😊Have a safe, cool and happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
