On August 13th, at about 1:15am This Queen, birthed her Prince 💙.

Birth doesn’t always go exactly as planned, but your perception & attitude make all the difference. This mama kept her smile and embraced the journey with grace, surrounded by an active & encouraging support system. That positive outlook shaped her experience beautifully. At the end of the day, a happy, healthy mom & baby is the ultimate goal, & we achieved that 💗 ! Speaking for all women when I say: bloated doesn’t equal baby, and a pudge does not equal pregnancy. Y’all really need to watch your mouths when it comes to women’s bodies especially when you’re speaking to mothers who are still adjusting to the changes that pregnancy and childbirth bring. Respect our softness, & if we ain’t announce no baby don’t assume or that makes you what . . . Oh ok.

As a doula,but more importantly, as a mother . . I don’t believe in passing around newborns to different folks like party favors🙅🏾‍♀️. Those first days are sacred.Their nervous system is still adjusting.Their bond with mama is still forming.
Their immune system is still fragile. That “Golden Hour” is necessary.

Keep that baby on your chest, in your arms, and close to your energy. Visitors can wait. Boundaries are ok, & vital.You don’t have to explain why. “No, not right now” is enough .

She navigated the intensity of pregnancy, labor, and birth with intention.
She trusted me as her doula to guide & assist through the process of it all, but most importantly she trusted herself.
She asked the questions, she did the research, She did the work !! Every breath, every position, every surge.
She listened to her body, moved through the waves, and brought her baby earth side with grace. It was an honor to witness her step fully into her power.

Being a doula means offering education, support, and advocacy, but ultimately, the birthing decisions are out of our hands. Sometimes, despite all the preparation, interventions and outcomes happen that are outside of our control. It’s a reminder that birth is unpredictable and that our role is to hold space for our clients, no matter what path their journey takes 💗.
