Many people would agree that there is nothing as heart-wrenching as losing a child. July is International Bereaved Parents Month, a time to support friends or loved ones who have lost a child. Whether the loss was recent or decades ago, the pain experienced by parents who have lost a child never fully goes away.

Alan Arkin, Oscar-winning actor and legend of American cinema, has died at the age of 89.

Arkin was a gifted actor with a wide range, and he brought joy and laughter to millions of people around the world. He starred in some of the most iconic films of all time, from "The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming" to "Little Miss Sunshine."

He was also a master of both comedy and drama, and his performances were always both hilarious and in addition to his film work, Arkin was also a successful stage actor, director, and writer.

He won numerous awards for his work, including an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Tony Award.

Arkin was a true icon of American cinema, and he will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of his fans for generations to come.
