Since the mid-1980s, Gail Thomas Barnes has been an icon in the home care and healthcare staffing business. Throughout these years, she has been a trusted friend, co-worker, employee, and "auntie" to many. When I started in the healthcare industry, she came into my life when I had no idea how to say 'no' to my employees. She had that covered for me. Sometimes special people are sent to us for particular reasons. I am sure God saw what we needed and sent you our way.

Gail passed away on Saturday, April 13th, leaving a void in our hearts. In honor of her life, a public viewing will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Leevy’s Funeral Home, 1831 Taylor Street, Columbia, S.C 29201. We invite you to join us between 3:00pm-6:00pm to pay your respects and share your memories of Gail.

Gail’s Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Leevy’s Funeral Home Taylor Street Chapel, 1831 Taylor Street, Columbia, S.C. 29201.

FREE COVID-19 VACCINES, GIFT CARDS ON DECEMBER 12 AT COMET HUB

On Monday, December 12 from 9:00 a.m. until 1 p.m., The COMET is hosting a special vaccine event through a partnership with Health Force, LLC and South Carolina Association of Community Action Partnerships, Inc. (SCACAP). Anyone eligible for their primary COVID-19 vaccine or any of the COVID boosters may drop in at the hub at COMET Central to receive their shot. The first 100 participants will also receive a $50 gift card.

The limited supply of gift cards will only be given to those receiving an eligible COVID-19 vaccination or booster. COMET Central is located at 1745 Sumter Street at the corner of Sumter and Laurel in downtown Columbia.
