It's still wild that I'm on this side of the teacher's desk. For 18 years I've dreamed of being an instructor at my second home, Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies. 🥰 We're on Week 7 of 10 of the Advanced Techniques Class and my heart is just so full! If only little 18yr old Megan could see us now...

Thank you for your patience last week. My family was without power for days. It was a struggle with little ones. Luckily we have amazing neighbors who helped bring us groceries and propane. My car is still stuck in our driveway, but we've had family let us borrow their 4wd truck. 🙌

This coming week I have several openings. I would love to have you back on my table! I've missed doing what I love!

Seventeen years ago, I began my journey to becoming a Massage Therapist. At that time, it was my biggest dream. From the moment I stepped inside Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies, I dreamed of one day becoming an instructor.

Cumberland has been a home to so many people. In fact, any time you meet an alum, it’s almost guaranteed they’ll mention their deep love for this place.

Today, I join my first staff meeting as I begin the transition from Assistant to Instructor of Advanced Techniques. I truly can’t find the words to express how grateful I am for this opportunity. 🤍

This morning, my client felt something tangled in the sheets. We found this tiny lego wheel. It must've been in one of my little one's pockets, fell out in the dryer and got tangled up in the fitted sheets.

10years ago, I would've been mortified! (I know.. how silly, right?) But today, my sweet client and I shared a giggle about it and went on about the session. I've been reading "The Power of Vulnerability" by Brené Brown. In the book she talks about how we let shame stop us from feeling true joy. The one way she finds to combat the often overbearing "shame gremlin", is to find gratitude.

So today I'm grateful for my sweet clients who accept me as the imperfect person I am. I am so grateful that so many people come in every week so I can live my dream while providing for my family. I am grateful to have the best kids; they really are amazing humans and I am so proud of them.
