🤠 In celebration of a local holiday, Mule Day, Life Care Center of Columbia and The Bridge at Columbia held our 4th Annual Block Party and Lunch with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and all the fixin's! 😋

🤩 We loved all the Mule Day/Western gear that folks showed up in! We are so thankful for the relationship we have as a continuum-of-care campus and the opportunity to come together as one company, on one campus, as one community. 🫶

🩷 Mary serves as our full-time weekday Concierge, but her contributions extend far beyond her role. She consistently steps in to support every department whenever there is a need. With 13 years of dedicated service to Life Care and The Bridge at Columbia as both a CNA and Concierge, Mary exemplifies what it truly means to be a caregiver. Mary has a natural gift for caring for others. Her compassion and the genuine love she shows our residents each day are truly a blessing.

🚿 One of her many remarkable talents is her ability to help even our most hesitant resident feel comfortable during showers. Through her gentle guidance, cheerful spirit, and reassuring presence, she transforms what can be a stressful experience into one filled with calm, dignity, and even laughter. Residents feel safe, respected, and never rushed, and they leave feeling refreshed, confident, and cared for. ☺️

Mary's willingness to help knows no bounds. 🌟 She never complains and is always ready to jump in whenever she is needed. Whether it's assisting residents, fixing TVs, repairing pendants, changing light bulbs, unclogging toilets, or adjusting closet doors, Mary takes initiative and gets the job done. A little time can mean the world. 🌎

April is Volunteer Month, and we are celebrating the amazing people of all ages who share their time with our residents. From calling bingo to painting nails 💅, performing music 🎵 to simply sitting and chatting, our volunteers bring an essential joy and connection to our community.

Thank you for giving of your time and talents to bring sunshine to our residents! ☀️

⭐ On March 6, Life Care Center of Columbia and The Bridge at Columbia hosted a combined Employee Appreciation Event, honoring all the dedicated professionals who provide care for our seniors in both communities. 👏 Local food trucks were invited to set up in the parking lot, and staff were given food vouchers from their building to spend at the food trucks as a small token of appreciation. 🎉

Having the opportunity to partner for another successful event allows us to celebrate the collective impact we have on Columbia and the surrounding counties we serve. 🫂 Together, we're able to offer a continuum of care that serves hundreds of residents and their families, and that wouldn't be possible without each and every one of our incredible associates. ❤️

⭐ The Bridge at Columbia's February 2026 Going the Extra Mile Winner is LaShanda Sales, one of our Resident Assistants! 🙌 LaShanda, who was nominated by Christy Thrasher, stepped up in a big way by taking charge of leading the podiatry day visit for our residents when our RCD was unable to be present. She worked closely with the podiatrist to get everything set up and ensured that residents who needed to be seen were gathered and ready throughout the day.

What makes this even more impressive is that she accomplished all of this while continuing to fulfill her Resident Assistant responsibilities. 👏 LaShanda is a wonderful Resident Assistant who consistently provides excellent care for our residents. Thank you, LaShanda, for taking initiative and stepping up to support the team. Your dedication and willingness to help do not go unnoticed! ❤️
