One of my favorite events to watch through the Olympic Trials (and Olympics themselves, come on Paris!!) is the swimming events. The athleticism required to compete at this level is incredible! 🤯

The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York has published a series of videos discussing the science of these sports you see at the Olympic Games- fascinating!! Sharing for all my fellow nerds out there 😉 Check out this and other competitive sports here:

This is “The Science of Swimming.” Each episode of this new, original 10-episode series delivers an insider POV as athletes and HSS clinicians explore the sc...

So proud to be part of a system that is among our nation’s leaders in orthopaedic health care!! “MU Health Care is one of only 11 health systems nationwide to have received this designation and is the only recipient in Missouri” 💪🏻

This certification requires advanced certification in at least three programs. MU Health Care’s advanced certifications include spine surgery, hip and knee replacement, and shoulder surgery.

(5/2/24) MU Health Care has received the Orthopedic and Spine Center of Excellence Designation from global independent certification provider DNV.

Today marks the fastest 10 YEARS ever at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute! It is incredible to think how much this one place has impacted my career, my growth as a clinician, and offered so many pinch-me opportunities that never would have been possible without the team here. I am so grateful for the last decade (what?!) here and am looking forward to more bright spots ahead!!

Another fantastic Masterclass complete! It was great to hear the perspectives of Matthew Smith, MD, FAAOS and Martin Kelley, PT, DPT, OCS discussing “Management of the Stiff Shoulder”. Adhesive capsulitis is a challenging diagnosis to treat, but the expertise presented in this seminar will certainly help our clinicians treat this condition more confidently and effectively. Lots of powerful research that is positively changing our approach to medicine! 💡🤓🤯👏🏻

I guarantee every one of my previous Physical Therapy students got tired of me saying this 😅 But this is a rule that I follow for every visit, every time.

One of the most frustrating aspects of patient care is getting consistent results. Unfortunately what works for one patient, may not work for another. This means that one treatment method or technique that worked really well to treat hip impingement or adhesive capsulitis in one patient is wildly ineffective in the next. As a "green" clinician, I struggled to find some stable ground for patients with various types of conditions because of this, making it very difficult to know where to start and progress a patient that presented with the same issue.

I finally figured it out and have condensed it to 4 steps. Check out the latest blog post to find out more about how I use this system across any diagnosis: https://www.lindseycolbertdpt.com/blog
