The dance floor shimmered with joy, and hearts were aglow as our seniors gathered for the Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County's Lancaster Neighborhood Senior Center and Columbia Senior Center's 2nd Annual Senior Center Prom!

We understand that not all seniors have had the privilege of attending a prom in their youth. Many among us, living with low income, have missed out on the experiences their peers might take for granted. But at our Senior Centers, we believe in breaking down those barriers, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring that every senior can enjoy life to the fullest.

Events like the Senior Center Prom are more than just a day of fun; they are a testament to our commitment to creating equity in access and experience. Our Senior Centers serve as beacons of hope, providing valuable opportunities for socialization, community connection, and a sense of belonging.

But we couldn't have pulled off this magical night without the incredible support of our sponsors! A huge shoutout to Aetna, Capital Blue Cross, and the fabulous Ooh la la Consignment for their generous contributions, including beautiful formal wear that made our seniors feel like royalty.

It's incredible to witness the joy and excitement on their faces as they danced, laughed, and made unforgettable memories together. These beautiful souls remind us of the importance of cherishing every moment and celebrating life, no matter our age.

Congratulations to Lion Kevin Kraft on 40 years of dedicated service to the Columbia Lions Club. Kevin has served for many years as coordinator of our vision program, which provides free or reduced cost eye exams and glasses to income eligible children and adults.

Due to COVID-19, the difficult decision was made to cancel the Columbia Memorial Day Parade. It saddens us to have to cancel for the second year in a row, but we have to prioritize the health of the parade participants and the community. We look forward to resuming the parade in 2022.
