My family enjoys helping out at one of our local food pantries. They are in desperate need of canned goods the next 2 weeks. If you feel led to donate it would meet a great need in our community.

Safe Sitter courses are coming! Currently planning on offering these the last week of June.
I have a location where I can host, but I want to hear from you all what is most convenient.
If you have a group of kiddos wanting to take this course I will come to you! Church space, co-op space or even your home if it's a group of your child and their friends.
This course will cover staying home alone safety, activities for entertaining children of different ages, and basic CPR & First Aid (NO CPR certification). It will be geared for kids and teens from the ages of 11-16.
Cost will be $70 per kid + $20 materials fee.

One of the most commonly asked questions in my courses is if I recommend the dechoking devices. (I do not.)

Here's why:
1) While there is some anecdotal evidence of their efficacy there is also a lot of evidence where the use of a dechoker device has been ineffective and in some cases even caused harm.
2) Time. The time that it takes to find the device, determine which mask size to use, assemble amd then use the device uses precious minutes where the brain is starting to detoriate from lack of oxygen. Your hands are always with you and back slaps and chest thrusts for babies or abdominal thrusts and back slaps for children and adults and can be started IMMEDIATELY.

But don't just take it from me. I will link one of the most recent articles from the FDA in the comments.

The details:
-- cost will be $35/person or $60/couple
-- there is NO certification for this course
-- classes will be held at one of our locations OR we can come to your home for a group of at least 5 (this is a great option for families who are wanting grandparents and babysitters to be trained as well)
-- the course covers infant CPR as well as choking relief for both responsive and unresponsive infants
