Me, everyday (actual transcript from Monday lol.)

"I love that the two of you are getting this.

But in a grand scheme of things, I actually don't care whether you feel good or bad at any given moment.

What I care about is that you know your agency and that as you know your agency and you see the potency of this, that you also begin to deliver that in all of the places where you are, because that's the tipping point between our current state of affairs and the world of they did it to me and all of us knowing our power.

There's that, right? This is, there's no way out of this mess because it's just what's happening. And well, maybe,

Right? There's a possibility here of something else being accessible, but it requires that embodied practice. It cannot be theoretical."

Please don’t let the right finish the delegitimization of questioning the establishment. From psychiatry to schooling to gender they are dominating the conversation of failing paradigms by proposing alternatives that are incredibly dangerous.

Let people help you. Let people love you. Let yourself be “taken care of.”

“We don’t work with companies. We work with people who make companies work.”

Tl;DR:
As of August 1 I’ll personally have 6 openings to work with me directly (4 for FFS programs, 2 for 1:1 or program upgrades as 2 of our clients graduate.) message me to discuss.

Someone said to me recently “I couldn’t do what you do- I do not have the patience.”

I don’t think of myself as patient though. I’m unbothered. I’m ok if people are going through their s**t as long as they’re not stuck in it or committed to it.

I truly know that given the right conditions, bodies are self healing. Symptoms are pointers to awareness.

This goes for bodies personal and organizational.

They/we don’t need “caretaking” per se- we need creative direction, connection, nourishment, awe, listening and courageous power.

And sometimes rigorously clear perspective, a burning of s**t ready to be transformed, a shakeup of our very ground, a fierce reality slicing through our perception or the appropriate fear of the unknown.

If you’re unafraid for you- and thus your organization- to be “taken care of” in the ways above?

I’m here for you.

As of August 1 we’ll have 6 openings to work with me directly (4 for FFS programs, 2 for 1:1 or program upgrades as 2 of our clients graduate.) message me to discuss.

Flowers in the photo represent one of the myriad supports with which I nourishing “the right conditions” for this here body. ❤️❤️❤️

You can resist the current paradigm or you can build a new one, that, by its very nature, will decontextualize the old one and make it obsolete.

My original mission, one I shared with my late father, and many others we mentored, was to take 70% of what is in the (usual, non emergency) healthcare systems out. We intended to put those practices- back into their rightful location in boardrooms and bedrooms- …because community care is the major determinant of health.

He- we- knew it would require recovery of senses and recognizing body symptoms as wisdom guides... he chose never to fight the “healthcare system” but instead began to build a a parallel world.

But his own mentor Ivan had already shown that institutionalization itself was the issue.

It was one he couldn’t avoid in the beginning with acupuncture... but with the groundwork of “mindfulness” laid and the burgeoning recognition of interconnection maybe we can move on.

So how do we decontextualize institutions?

By building a non- institutionalized economy.

What does that mean?

It means refusing to institutionalize conflict.

It means refusing to institutionalize our bodies (or our minds, or for that matter to allow an institution to define the boundaries of those.)

It means refusing to institutionalize our business and our lives.

Not our children.
Not our marriages
Not our understanding of land and water and food.

Then what will you build?

What is the world you imagine without institution?
(may I recommend NK Jemison for some How Long ‘Till Black Future Month?)

(Do not confuse institution with structure... trees have structure... rivers have structure...
but they have proportion. They have natural scale. A redwood can grow as tall as it can grow deep... it grows strong in the middle to support this... a bush grows wide but can endure a lot of trimming.)

What world has water for everyone?

If we bring the current thinking to Mars (did you know there are whole industries cropping up around popularizing and economizing space travel? The lawyers are already divvying up “ownership) we will destroy a second planet... at minimum… and any remaining trust in each other- if you leave behind your first globe for your second without addressing the core issues you will replicate them. It will taint the foundations of new society. If there’s one thing I’ve learned unequivocally from OD it’s that an original crack in the foundation will only grow and fester with scale.

The world’s wounds must be addressed here.
Now.
By you.

Presences

11. Just like the patient always knows what’s going on, the organizational body also always knows what’s going on.

12. Endings are also beginnings.

13. The world is kind of a Montessori classroom though- life has a way of showing us until we are willing to be patient enough to notice where and how we’re rushing through and not getting the results.

14. Hurting is hurting, whether it’s frustration or desperation or an elbow bump. Be a helper where possible.

15. The hurt-er is often a hurt-ee too. You still get to choose where to focus your help.

16. Focus is crucial. Otherwise you’ll be spending your time kerfuffling over things that aren’t moving the needle on the world our children have to live in.
Tik tok y’all.

17. If you’re good at helping, train others. Focus on that- we need all hands on deck.

18. Upset is adrenalized. Some of us (many of us) are addicted. Physically. Some of us are using it as a drug to cope with another underlying grief.

19. Withdrawal- from anything accessible- requires a. A decision, b. Support, c. Recommitting moment by moment.

20. We’re all addicted to something. Please let it be something fruitful.

One of the most important, but often overlooked transitions from agrarian to industrial was the privatization of land, from which the great majority of “commoners” sustenance was gleaned.

We’ve sadly done the same with non tangible sustenance, though maybe we have a moment in which to reclaim that as we also become aware of “energy” as an ideological obsession rather than a truly scarce commodity.

What does sense of Purpose vs sense of obligation vs sense of artistic expression have to do with market fit and trajectory?

How does communication correlate with efficacy and budgets and satisfaction at large?

How do you calibrate for human scale and
Quantify change internally AND in the world around you?

How do you mark your progress in changing the landscape of your current or adjacent industries?
