Mizzou College of Health Sciences Official page of the MU College of Health Sciences. Guidelines: http://bit.ly/mizzousocial Our faculty are driven to solve real-world problems.

At the Mizzou College of Health Sciences, we work every day to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities. As the home of the most popular major on campus, we teach Mizzou students who care about health and are dedicated to serving others. In addition to learning in the classroom, our students spend more than 80,150 hours helping patients every year. They lead the way by conducting research that has power and purpose. From expanding the use of technology in health care to improving mental health and learning in schools, we are discovering ways to make life better for everyone. Through clinics and community outreach programs, we provide vital services to members of our community and training for our students. We are proud to serve Missourians today while preparing the workforce of tomorrow.

The Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound program has added a state-of-the-art obstetric ultrasound simulator to its lab thanks to a Mizzou Forward grant. The high-fidelity simulator gives students five times more hands-on experience in obstetric imaging, helping them build confidence and further develop skills before entering their clinical rotations.

Mizzou researchers are taking the guesswork out of head injury diagnosis. Physical therapy professor Trent Guess led the development of the Point-of-Care Assessment System, a portable tool that uses machine learning to provide objective concussion assessments.

The system analyzes subtle changes in movement, balance and reaction times to deliver more reliable and data-driven results. The technology could ultimately help improve safety protocols for athletes, military personnel and first responders.
