π Resident Spotlight! π
Introducing Mrs. Cynthia Cordle, a distinguished member of the Watercrest family! Born in Marion, SC, Cynthia is the ninth of 10 children, a mother of three, and a retired military wife who traveled extensively. Educated in Colorado, she graduated from nursing school, becoming a nursing home administrator.
Cynthia served on many boards, including the Board of Nursing Home Administrators & the Legislative Committee in Washington, D.C., representing non-profit nursing homes in Colorado, and has been in this industry since 1976! She proudly earned Nursing Home Administrator of the Year twice for the state of Colorado and contributed to shaping their nursing home policies.
Choosing Watercrest was a deliberate decision for Cynthia, who watched the community being built. She values cleanliness, friendliness, and professionalism, and her meticulous approach involved interviews with staff, including the Resident Wellness Director and Chef Rob. With a unique perspective due to her extensive experience, Cynthia recognizes Watercrest's standards, describing it as a cut above other communities in Columbia by saying, "I know what quality care looks like. I know what it feels like when you go the extra mile."
At 85, Cynthia doesn't want to transfer between assisted living communities and believes Watercrest can fulfill her needs. Reflecting on her wisdom, she advises younger generations to "respect and learn from seniors," emphasizing the importance of discipline. About Watercrest Columbia, she says, "We still have a lot to offer society. There's history in this building."
Cynthia's perspective, constructive advice, and true expertise have benefited our community greatly and we're beyond proud to share her story. π
