Classes at Sumit Hot Yoga flow to music through a sequence of both balancing and energizing asanas (poses) in a heated practice environment. At Sumits Yoga, we understand the healing aspect of heat. In a yoga class, you practice poses that require stretching and compression of the joints, muscles, ligaments and other supporting structures of the body. Your body naturally protects itself from physical exertion by generating heat from the inside muscles outwards. We start with the heat up front…providing extra protection from the very first poses. Another added benefit is that your body burns fat more effectively. It's not uncommon for our students practicing regularly to lose inches of shape in a relatively short time. Though classes are designed to optimize physical health by waking and energizing the entire body, Sumits Yoga stresses that the greatest benefit comes not as much from the healing of the body, but from the healing of the mind. The simple pleasure and self-reward that comes from quieting our minds, listening to each breath and honoring where are bodies are in stillness or movement cannot be measured. You do not measure your yoga practice by how many perfectly aligned poses you can perform, but by how deep you can immerse yourself inwards. It's amazing how a simple downward dog can be felt so differently by any student on any given day and still provide a feeling of connection, balance and satisfaction regardless of the depth it's practiced. This is the true beauty of yoga and it awaits every student who is ready let go of the ego and begin listening to their own deeper wisdom and inner voice.

Join Sarah and Maria on March 21 for Root + Elemental Immersion Sound.
____

Maria brings us Root - A foundational workshop focused on the relationship between the feet and pelvis. It builds stability, grounding, and safe load-bearing through the body while supporting posture, balance, and nervous system regulation.

This workshop prepares the body for deeper spinal and pelvic work by establishing strong structural awareness and functional movement patterns.

Best for:
Beginners to advanced students, or those returning to movement
Building long-term pelvic health
Creating a stable foundation for backbends, yoga flow, and deeper embodiment work for anyone who is curious to learn more

Then to integrate and explore the emotions and states inspired by our movement, we will ground with Sarah's signature sound healing, Elemental Immersion Sound.
____

Elemental Immersion Sound explores the energies of the Elements in order to align our chakras with Nature through the high vibration of sound healing.

Our experience with Elemental Immersion Sound will support us in learning how to focus on expanding and moving Elemental energy as well as our own vital energy throughout our entire body, while strategically calming and healing the nervous system. This awareness brings vitality, healing and inner connection to our energetic field in a whole new way.

Megan and Dane's Story

Hot yoga has been a part of our lives for years, and it’s something we’re grateful to share together.

What started as a way to stay active has become our favorite way to reset, recharge, and reconnect. Between busy schedules and kids at home, stepping into the studio gives us time to focus on ourselves, challenge our bodies, and clear our minds—together.

We love the consistency, the community, and how hot yoga keeps us grounded, strong, and sane. We’re thankful to have found a practice that supports both our health and our relationship.

Paige's Story

I first began practicing yoga as a means of exercise, in an attempt to gain strength, flexibility, and stamina. I have expanded in those aspects, however, the more profound transformation has been in my heart. My personal practice has developed and grown over the years immensely, blossoming into a tenacious commitment to empower others in the same way.

In January of 2021, I made a commitment to prioritize my health and this progression has far exceeded anything I ever imagined. A few months later I went on to complete my YTT 200 through the Sumits studio. I am so grateful for what I have gained, in my body’s awareness and the ability to exponentially grow in a place of peace and harmony.

We are conditioned to normalize delegating our energy into separate things at the same time, many facets of life are contradicting or simultaneously happening. Through yoga we practice synchronizing mind, body, and spirit as one. As a result we gain a better understanding of the body's needs.

My purpose for every class is to create a sacred space for each student to connect with themselves. From this connection, may we embark on a journey to explore the sustainment of individual health and wellness.
